Re: Loaded Topic…
Fantastique. We just need to turn this good deed into a die hard habit now. ![]()
I feel we are not producing great cricketing minds is largely because of the fact we are not producing players who love and enjoy cricket in the true sense of the word! Yes, this is right, at the end of the day, this is all about cricket, yet one fails see the passion, respect and dedication to the game that was a defining factor behind shaping the careers of many great players of the past. Forget about the team, it’s like these players can’t even be bothered to express themselves as individuals. The confidence, the self belief and even the selfish desire to play for the sake of protecting personal reputation is missing. The likes of Malik, Kamran Akmal etc are a perfect example of this.
It’s only when these players will genuinely and wholeheartedly love and respect the great game of cricket, only then they’ll develop an interest to learn more about the game. They’ll learn to pay attention to details, learn about how things work, what are the rules, how and when those rules work. And when you learn about the rules, it becomes easier to break them, to shape them, to twist them, to turn them to suit your aims and goals. You know, we need confident, inquisitive, adventurous minds in the squad. We need players who genuinely love, love, love playing cricket, the way likes of Ponting & Co did. Tragically, Pakistani players visibly look and act so uninspired, they’re so bloody boring (and short) that I cannot bring myself to develop a crush on any of those fellas. What a shame, innit?
