Re: Load Shedding during Dictatorships
I know that growing economies need energy, i was just highlighting the irony of it all.
Im not suprised at the polarized comments, rather these comments dont breed moderate, temperate minds - which are the best minds for thinking critically, professionally, and appropriately.
Feudal Landlords created policies that favored land holders. Much created policies that favored a Capitalist System - which is what we need in the 21st century.
Yaar, you cant have a debate without differing oppinions... So far, I have tried to be civil and im open to what you have to say.. Beyond that, there is little we can do, we only represent the very real polarization that exists within the country today.
But you know that the Army, which is represented by Mush is part and parcel of the establishment... The Army itself is a large landowner... The Army itself works hand in hand with large land owners.
Keeping Mush in place only perpetuates that role...
One of the reasons why im a strong support of the Chief Justice and Lawyers and Media is that they represent a new front... A liberal, educated and urbanized group who do not represent the old sytem...
The battle with the Supreme Court and Media is in some respect, nothing but a power struggle between the liberal educated groups on one side and the established feudal/military power on the other...
Ofcourse, we know that Mush acted to cement the control of the backwards feudals and Army at the expense of the liberals...
Had Mush not pushed out the civil society, he might have been a hero... But in doing so, he turned into someone who's only role is perpetuating the rule of feudals and Army, nothing more.
Not only this, but the Army has intruded on civilian institutions like never before.. How many generals and other Mush loyalist were given top postions in civilian institutions? Now the Army has bigger stake in the countries bussines' then ever before.. How is anyone going to force the Army back to baracks now?
Thats why I dont understand why anyone could possibly support Musharaf when he embodies the very things you and the rest of the people such as Khekashan claim to be opposed to.
