Re: Living in USA
Wrong. Holocaust denial is illegal in some European countries, not in the US.
Thanks for correcting , I take back parts of what I've said above , but still it's clear that this is not "freedom of speech" . I can't slap someone on the face and say it's "freedom of speech" .
Re: Living in USA
I was confused after listening to a “radio” station . The information was either incomplete or I wasn’t paying enough attention ![]()

Re: Living in USA
Amreeka is great but their "Dunya ka Hawaldar" complex feels just too nauseating over here in the East and it's taking it's toll over the US economy paired with some not so smart taxation and spending.
Re: Living in USA
Not only can there never be any justification for violence but these riots and violent protests are also self-defeating for other reasons too. First, they draw attention to something that would otherwise go unnoticed, amplifying the reach, in this case, of an amateurish trailer that no one would have bothered with. Second, and more important, they dishonor the Prophet by desecrating the message he preached. A lot of non-Muslims and people on the fence sometimes wonder whether, as Muslims claim, Islam is about peace or whether there is some inherent violence involved. They won’t judge the Prophet from some random cartoon or movie trailer because in the West at least unflattering portrayals are nothing uncommon and no one really is off-limits. But they do look for clues about the Prophet from how his followers behave. By violently protesting en masse, burning and destroying property, and killing people, Muslims dishonor and inflict a much greater damage to the image of the Prophet and his message than any movie or cartoon ever can.

Re: Living in USA
goodname has made some very thoughtful posts on this topic in the past few days :k:
Re: Living in USA
discussions over the weekend revealed the following:
a claim was made that the protest in Karachi was peaceful…nobody was hurting/destroying anything until such time as some “paid elements” appeared riding motorbikes.
these “elements” created fasaad…violence…destruction of property and mob mentality ensued.
I was told that Duniya TV has filmed this “takeover” of the peaceful protest but has not been permitted to broadcast/share the footage.

Re: Living in USA
I am sure you are not believing this muzna. Non-mob mentality public does not even come out on streets. As I said somewhere else (and some poster got offended by my words), that we dont even know the meaning of the phrase 'peaceful protest'. Authorities of Pakistan in last 63 years have become expert in one game only, shift-the-blame game i.e.

you know I'm not.
one of our nation's biggest failings is the inability to take responsibility for our ills.
