You think one YouTube video has the ability to disrespect the Prophet (saw)? You think all it takes is a video?

Sooooo…it seems the respect and memory of our beloved Prophet (saw) is very delicate and easily threatened. One video is all it takes to get our entiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire Muslims Ummah up in arms. That’s all. I wonder what would happen if someone waltzed around with a piece of bacon.

i am tired of us blaming west for our problems. i think this mindset is one of the reasons what is holding us back from making progress. we are our worst enemies.

I really hope and pray that someday we learn to be bigger people. Because we claim to follow the best religion on this planet…which should be making us better people. But its not. All we seem to do is move two steps forwards and ten steps back.

Its not like we don’t get any crap out here people. We get stuff thrown in our faces all the time. My dad came to the US at a time when being different was considered a crime almost. He’s heard and seen the worst discrimination EVER. So no, we don’t live in oblivion. I used to be hijabi (before 9/11) and it was pretty common for me to hear comments like “omg, do you guys wear that to the shower too?” or “do you have hair under there?” or “do you guys worship the sun?” or “omg, its towelhead”. I would get upset…cry a lot and pray I would turn blonde and blue eyed over night. I’ve ignored a lot of stupidity including being called a terrorist to my face for doing nothing aside from ringing up a customer a few years ago.

Don’t tell me we’re sheltered here and don’t know what’s happening out there.

One video made by some jaahil who has no idea about my faith or who I am does NOT hold the power to insult or tarnish the memory of our beloved Prophet (saw). The people who give this idiot that power by allowing him to piss us off so much that we’ve got our OWN dying in response…are the ones responsible.
