Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
First of all, stop with all your emotional wastays. Compose yourself!
Secondly, what is ‘Red Zone’? This is the same Red Zone where in 2009, Nawaz League supporters used to dance on the streets day and night to have the Chief Justice restored. It wasn’t an issue then? And the Red Zone entry was also not an issue when it was time to oust Musharaf and bring democracy (so people can freely protest!), where was the fear of any unfortunate incident then? But now suddenly it has turned into an absolute no go area because Nawaz League said so? Stop pretending that Red Zone is now some War Zone. Even within the Red Zone, there are clear parameters where protesters can freely protest without bringing any harm to the buildings. There is more to the Red Zone than diplomatic enslavement. The only real problem here that protesting in Red Zone actually works! Simple as that. It is known for yielding results and in the last 5-6 years, it has successfully worked twice. Imran knows that and that’s why he’s wants to protest in the Red Zone, Nawaz League knows that too and that why that will try level best to stop the protesters and have the so called unemotional and self proclaimed independent minds believe that crossing of Red Zone is akin to crossing the Indian border.
I highly doubt Imran literally wants to march into the parliament house or whatever, the aim to is to clearly gather near the parliament, and that’s fine according to me, considering we tend to always protest outside the Big Ben and Downing Street. The recent protests for Gaza were all based there. So it’d be quite hypocritical of me to take such a high and mighty attitude over protests outside the parliament. I wonder how many people here know that even the idea of March of Washington was declared unconstitutional and a grave threat by the US government. The US Federal Government bitterly opposed it and straight away said no. Martin Luther King had to go out of his way to convince Kennedy that we’ll remain peaceful, and if he really cares about maintaining the facade of American of freedom and liberty during the Cold War, he should allow the March and better not use violence against the marchers. Imagine if King had bowed down to the pressure and illegally imposed restrictions and threats and cancelled the March? How different America’s history would’ve been and by how many decades, it would’ve delayed the freedom of African Americans? Now don’t get uber excited and jumpy and think I’m comparing King with Khan, I’m just pointing out the similarities in their methods. Imran has promised peaceful entrance and dharna (i.e some kind of non-movement and retrain as oppose to restless swarming) in the Red Zone. In case the entry and the gathering remains a peaceful, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should fire at the protesters and turn this legitimate and just movement into a bloodbath. Clearly a threat is being created and atmosphere of fear is being induced by this insecure, incompetent and immoral government. But the ultimate argument is, if Nawas League supporters were allowed to protest in the Red Zone to oust Musharraf and restore CJ, then there’s no real ground for barring PTI from entering the area.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
Pti has played all its cards now. So what exactly the party is expecting to get by entering the red zone? Reportedly the government might allow them entry to the area, which will be guarded by Pakistani army. What kind of face saving can the government now offer khan?

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
bibi I am composed…aap bee apna khayal rakhen…wo kaya farmaya tha aap nay..stress is not good for skin!!!
the issue is that every march has different set of circumstances… at lest for this march govt and PTI talked about this topic beforehand…permission to protest in Islamabad was granted on express conditions that the Red Zone will not be breached and in return govt will not interfere in PTI march. PTI leadership agreed to it but of-course now no one from PTI camp will agree to it …
regardless…you claim that a protest in red zone will actually work and that is why PMLN iis not allowing them to protest in the red zone…fine.** Now i desperately pray that govt allows Imran and PTI to protest in the red zone** so that everyone can see that nothing is going to work for PTI march because it is based on some thoughtless strategy … the more PTI will try more it will expose itself…it has dug a hole and it is not even trying to come out of it.

Nawaz and COAS met. COAS told him to take a step back in his stance.
Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
Imran is just desperate, he knows the march has failed, and wants to create a situation, that is it.

What step can he take now?

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
if nothing happens than occupy Parliament and President house. I do not think government can rely on army to guard these institutions for government, neither government who has done everything to make armed forces upset, could expect that. Meanwhile, TUQ has started dharna all over country and that would put more pressure on government.
I think that idea would be to make government nonfunctional and force them to resign. But if government still keep hanging with posts than making whole Pakistan nonfunctional would force other power players (especially armed forces) to move for the benefit of the country.
