Actually said it is not. There has been no donations to Africa. They have all be aid linked with conditionalities or NGOs peddling agendas. It is nothing more than a publicity stunt which will not help Africa at all. I also love the fact that these concerts have no African stars nor they are taking place in Africa which could use the influx of money.

This is just another way for the rich to have fun and entertain themselves under the guise of a moralistic and just concept.

I know that what you saying is true to some extent but the thing is that who knows maybe one of such efforts (or fake efforts) might turn out to be a true fulfilling one?

What is amazing is the hope and optimism that indeed poverty can be erradicated. noone is stupid enough to have beliefs ala utopia in the near future. Not to mention that poverty is a relative term.

The argument of "why was money not donated" does not arise - as what they wanted from their audiance was not money but awareness and thus social pressure - as the pro thinking of us have feelings leaning towards self importance. We believe we can make a difference, this was a celebration of that and a fun stab in the dark - not to mention it got poeple who were previously appathetic involved.

I loved it all. YOu Americans better appreciate the cheifs. If indeed you understand the sarcasm and satire-ic wit in their lyrics :p

Actually the argument 'why were concerts held everywhere but Africa or africans singers were not invited' does not hold much weight either when you know that money will be generated with big names and at big places. Where does it go? That remains to be seen (or buried whatever).

What about the one in South Africa? On the contrary, there are ALOT of african artists playing too. Shows in Kenya and Ghana are lined up too for Aug and Sept.

Maria smells

The reason I love williams is they made it against all odds. Maria had a cushy way up and is way too smug. Besides I find her playing very boring. Infact, I may be as presumptuous to say that imo before the williams sisters - before they pretty much introduced that overwhelming power - womens tennis was boring and only watched for the pretty faces ala anna. Serena and Venus may not be your cup of chai, but they are real women.

That was amazing. The best bits were Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Razorlight, Robbie Williams, UB40, Scissor Sisters, Dido and Maria Carey. I wish I had got tickets.

Why can't they just ask all those people $1 and give the money to poor and hungry kids in Africa?

Yes do tell me about the one in South Africa, why is that the African singers were not invited else where? Also why were the Kenya and Ghana ones set for August and Sept? They didn’t wish to invest added money to keep it at the same time as everybody else?
