Im up for piercings but lip and tongue are a big no no, merely because once you stop wearing the ring or stud there will be an ugly hole on the lip or the tongue and it looks disgusting.

Don't get one as it doesn't look that nice. My friend has her bottom lip pierced sometimes water drips out of the hole esp when she drinks any liquids.

you know what I really want? A piercing above my top lip at the corner…where people usually have moles. I want a glittery, sparkly stud there :jano:
I've read that getting your ears/cartilage pierced doesn't hurt too bad because there are not many nerve ending there, so very little pain is felt. Don't know if that is the case with the lip area.
Weigh out the options first before getting it pierced.
Is this going to be a long term or short term thing? Are you going to wear it forever (like ear/nose piercings)?
How about in the work place? As a teacher, I've had no problems at work with my nose pierced. Some of the white teachers got encouraged by me, and got theirs pierced as well, LOL. But keep in mind some jobs might not allow you to wear a lip piercing.
Are you okay with having a potential scar in your lip?
And don't forget, people stereotype others based on the way they look, and that includes piercings/tattoos. (Sad, but true).
I'm not discouraging you. Just point out some ideas. At one time I wanted to get my belly button pierced....but decided not to cuz I know I wouldn't maintain it properly.
