Punjabi in Pakistan survived because they speak the language but i think Urdu is taking over and from major cities in Pakistani Punjab Urdu has almost taken over…the Punjabis living in those Punjabi cities think it’s kinda painDoo to speak Punjabi so they consider Urdu as the language of the Elite…they are shying away from teaching Punjabi.
in Indian Punjab, the language and it’s literature is promoted at every level…from schools to the universities and thru literary forums/platforms.
