Imran may be Oxford-educated but deep-down his family, belonging to the Niazi Pashtun tribe, is quite conservative. Purdah and hijab is very common among their women. And these days he only makes sense when he talks about cricket. Sad but true.

That’s a very ignorant and judgmental comment to make.

You do know his sisters who are effectively in their 50s and 60s are/ or had been working women all their lives? One of his sister is a surgeon, one was an economist employed by the UN and one of them is a businesswoman. Not to mention the choice of women Imran had dated and married - none of them were remotely ‘conservative’.

Since I’m not a person who judges people by their appearance, in my opinion Imran’s family in practice is certainly modern given the era the siblings were brought up and the country they’re living in.

PS: If it makes any sort of difference to how you judge his family, I don’t think one of his sisters wears hijab.
