I think CII was formed in 70s (the decade where religion officially started to creep into Pakistani constitution and politics).
Since then CII has been used and abused by likes of Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to buy Moulana Fazlu’s support. The head and including the most Mullahs in CII are JUI-F members.
As long as you have politucans in the country whose ‘survival’ and success depends on keeping Moulana Fazlu happy, CII isn’t going anywhere.
