Lets learn local languages

Re: Lets learn local languages

Man…I wish. No would ever even teach me Sindhi.
It was meant to be Farsi. I’m not surprised they match up pretty well considering same roots and such.

Merci = Thank you
Masheen = car

Both are also found in other langauges. I think in Russian they say masheena.

Re: Lets learn local languages

Do you find Sindhi difficult? BTW whats your mother tongue?

Re: Lets learn local languages

I can't say whether it was hard or easy since no one bothered to teach me.

I guess technically it would be Punjabi, which I do speak, at a mediocre level. And also we're from Sindh, so my parents do speak it (but not really in the home, though my dad did have his early schooling in sindhi way back in the day) . I always wanted to learn, my mom told my dad to do it and after five minutes he just told me i'd never learn it haha

Let me also add that I can understand parts of it and if/when I watch the news, I get what's going on but I think anyone can probably do that with enough exposure.

Ok... accent does change after 40 kos (I don't know how many Kos are there in a Kilo meter)... In Sindh, we have many accents and the difficult one is of Thar, which is very hard to understand even for other Sindhis.

Re: Lets learn local languages
