This is a real problem indeed. if Malala wrote something against Pakistan army, she is the traitor. Have people with this view ever read / heard about Ayesha Siddiqa’s book "Military Inc.'? I really doubt it. As I said, its more a case of ‘Khuda wastay ka bair’ than anything else. bad acha badnaam bura.

There are so many books written against Satanic Verses and the writers of such books including Professor Rafiq Akhtar expressed same views as Malala mentions in her book. A book against book… but we see out of proportion critcisim against Malala all of sudden (though she was convicted traitor and drama queen way before the book was published), while likes of Orya Maqbool Jaan might some day quote from Prof. Rafiq’s book if they have to talk on the real matter pertaining to Satanic Verses.

Malala’s book and its contents are not something that are first time said / written in any of the books / media. Everything in her book forms opinion of a sizable majority and if we really respect opposing views (as you suggested to me in above posts), then why the bashing and hatred against poor girl. If she is to be condemned for expressing opposing views, then give same right to those (including BBCDs, ABCDs) to criticise Malala haters and bash them.

There are instances when Prophet had to interact with people like Abu Jahal. Though there is no comparison and neither I by anyway support Rushdie or Taslima, but why should we hide when they show a presence on any platform? They are the culprits and they should hide their manhoos faces from the world.

Point being, if you want to change world’s perspective, seclusion is not the solution.

I didn’t say you called her traitor. I said people called her and labelled her so. Please bring me any reaction from likes of Orya when books of Ayesha Jalal or others came in market. I’m sure there are dozens of more bitter books on Pakistan army than that of Malala’s book (even though we are yet to see what she wrote against Pakistan army).

You’ll have to learn to co-exist with people who hold different views than your own. That’s the truth…of course if you want to end up in a better place than you are now.

We here in the States don’t support everything the US does…does that make us traitors? No. Do we get shot? No. Do we get told to leave the country? No.

And if that’s your opinion…that people who speak up against Pakistan are traitors…then why do ppl support IK? He’s openly protesting against the PM of Pakistan…he should be the first to go. If we go with your reasoning…NS will not be doing anything wrong by throwing IK in jail for speaking out against him.

And honestly devi…I’d like to see some references before we just go about believing everything everyone writes against her. There were some passages quoted from her book that aren’t even in the book. So yes, unless you have some hard evidence…I can’t really go with just a post declaring her book anti pak.

I’m gonna state my honest opinion for once even though I might get mocked at or thrown insults at like the boy in Emperor’s New Clothes but I don’t care. I don’t like her. Not that I think she’s evil…she’s good and I’m not offended by her sitting with Obama or Salman Rushdie but I don’t like her. And the reason is very simple. I get the vibe of a politician from her rather than an activist. She is going to be a future politician and she has said that many times. Politicians aren’t exactly likeable or loveable people.
