Lets all define "Shareef"

SO. There have been many threads lately using this term. Lightly or seriously. Some of these rather suspect threads start with "I’m a very shareef person (and goes on to describe things that are far from shareef as I understand the term). I think I have a pretty good idea of what it means but am very curious as to how it would be defined by the good folk of GS. Lets get to the bottom of this!! POLITELY pleez!!!

Shareef: Someone who is simple and traditional about everything in general. Respects women around him, with no eye contact to them and will respect his wife to the fullest with no creepy fetishes . Believes of everything in moderation, but the practice of Islam, as it is his first priority . Has a soft soothing voice, with kind words and ignores anger.

Shareef: A guy who has to come on GS to learn the basics of how to "please" his wife who is threatening with divorce because he is a 1 minute man (or was it 30 seconds?)...meh

lol! Come on now! I was being really serious here....yes, the ones who try to pass themselves off as shareef and troll with sex threads are not truly shareef....I was looking for the REAL definition of shareef here...

Perhaps the best word would be "serene". Have you ever met one of those people? They have this peaceful, loving light in their eyes no matter who they are talking to. They have the utmost respect and always time to listen to anyone - no matter how educated or not. They treat everyone as the most important person at that moment. And they are SO very at peace with themselves, the world and everyone in it THATS shareef to me.

^ lol...ok in all seriousness, shareef is a guy that respects women. He doesn't ooogle or gawk or even bark at them. If he sees an attractive woman he will check her out without making it obvious (and yes he will still look, there is no such thing as a guy that won't look, even for a second).

He/she thinks about sex , but only about halal sex. Post marital sex but not pre-marital sex.

Thinking about halal or post marital sex all the time is not bad either.

shareef are the ones who can distinguish between what is good and what is bad. and then dont do anythign bad.

and there is a confine line between a naive jerk and shareef.
