Let your hair down

The sheesha thread made me curious.
I thought I might be the only one that finds it’s unladylike to smoke but Mehnaz confirmed that I’m not alone.

Someone in the thread mentioned that it’s okay for his lady cuz they need to let off steam too.

I’m curious…what do “uptight” people like Mehnaz and I do to let off steam?

Mehnaz, what do you do that would replace the sheesha?

Re: Let your hair down

Read a book? :halo:

Re: Let your hair down

no....I get too captured by books. It doesn't help me to wind down cuz I get so caught up in the plot.

Re: Let your hair down

jog or kickbox (with a punching bag of course)...that always helps me

Re: Let your hair down

Muzna, when I go out with my friends, we opt for coffee instead of sheesha. We sit around, talk about our lives, gossip, share in each others pain or just laugh about silly stuff … over a nice coffee or hot drink. Sheesha is just unappealing and I don’t like any kind of smoke.

If I’m alone and need to let my hair down, I blast the radio and dance around the house or in my room. My parents are quite used to it. Before it would be me and my sister and we would do this for years … but now it is just me on my own. It’s still fun though. :clown:

Playing tennis is a new hobby as well as going for long walks with a friend, done for relaxation purposes as well as exercise, although I haven’t done that in a few weeks. :bummer:

Re: Let your hair down

i said i'd go only if SHE wants to go. personally i do'nt like such sheesha-jali type things but if SHE wants to have fun that way then i'd tag along. otherwise nope.

Re: Let your hair down

lol....im exactly like u mehnaz....when me and my hubby used to live alone, i would crank up the music and just dance around..lol...i love it! i also enjoy going for walks and going to timmys....mehnaz and muzna: wanna go out and watch The Breakup with me?????? puhlease!!!!!

Re: Let your hair down

The Geeekymale Equivalent way of letting yoru hair down… fire up the PC games

Ahh.. the countless hours I’ve wasted on that :cb:

Re: Let your hair down

^ urgh!! my hubby is the same! wth! do all guys go to the same school or something????

Re: Let your hair down

i just cant stand sitting around on a sofa and making small talk. be it someone's house or a lounge/sheesha bar. after a while i just look at people with blank stares and go "OHKAY...Now what?" i'd rather dance or workout or something. pretty much what mehnaz said....i like exploring different cuisines especially asian.

Re: Let your hair down

another way to release steam is by chatting with ur buddies and talking crap. doesnt matter even if its over msn :D

Re: Let your hair down

It’s a universal male thing

It’s beautiful, in its own way. A guy could be raised in Pakistan, Britain, Canada, or whenever… and yet we can communicate in the universal language of relaxation through computer games.

I ought to meet your husband… and kick his butt at some video game or the other :stuck_out_tongue:

Is he coming to the Toronto guppy barbeque?

Re: Let your hair down

most likely we will be coming! woo hoo! (even only for a couple of hours...im doing a dawat that night...)

Re: Let your hair down

i always heard: "shareef aurtein cigratee/smoke nahee peetein"

Re: Let your hair down

a long shower helps one relax too.

Re: Let your hair down

I'm another uptight one. I run to let off steam. Three miles, 3 days a week.

Re: Let your hair down

When stressed about something we can either kill yourselves by over eating, smoking or our soul by being bitter, grumpy or by gossiping. A constructive way to let steam off is through exercise! :k:

I hardly ever let steam off … maybe that explains my gas problems. :bummer:

Re: Let your hair down

I agree its very unladylike thing as well. That makes 3 of us we can create our own little club now *grin

I usually go close to water/lake/beach etc.. it calms me down. Or go out for a walk or something.. it works great for me :D

Re: Let your hair down

i scrub and clean like there’s no tomorrow!
