It seems like PM wants counter terrorism strategy (its never too late)…so let us all help him in coming up with some constructive ideas. Here are some of my ideas. Please feel free to add more.

  1. Anyone charged with terrorism cannot be released on bail by any court.
  2. Anyone charged with terrorism must be tried in a security court (s) under uniform code of military justice.
  3. Anyone knowingly helping terrorists must also be tried in security courts.
  4. Pressuring Arab countries to stop funding terrorism in Pakistan.
  5. Coming up with tangible plan to control movement of people on Afghan border & possibly mining and fencing the border where possible.
  6. Controlling madrassas & enforcing strict govt approved curriculum in religious schools.
  7. Going after banned groups without mercy.
  8. Mandatory death penalty for terrorism related cases.
  9. Going after terrorists hiding in the tribal belt.

Something like Patriot Act is needed badly. Also need a seperate act for Judges if they fail to finish up terrorist cases in x number of days/weeks.

Dont see #7 happening in Notanki League current rule.

First and foremost......formation of new or joint force consisting of various law enforcement and intelligence agencies..... and a central coordination setup.......which would allow all people to be on the same page....

The 'courts' wouldn't be able solve the issue, since the issue isn't there......issue is with law enforcement agencies and their capacity building......so that they can build better prosecution case and do the good work...instead of siting on their assses and getting blown up...

Education. Only stupid people think that god allows you to kill people because they are a different brand of religion to you. However he does get really angry if you have a bacon sandwich.

So if they start educating people, they will gain the ability to think logically and therefore terrorism will never appeal to them.

A need to revamp the whole education system......especially providing free and quality primary and secondary education........ people put kids in the madrassa because there aren't any schools and those that are there....are unaffordable for comon man.....

Many good ideas has been posted, So I beleive these ideas if implemented is essentisl for tsckling this cancer:

1) revamp the police force. Start with raising the bar for ppl who get selected as police officers. Make police a indepedent and respected institution.
2) make a anti- terror force in each province.
3) secure the jails!!!
4) death penanilty for getting involved with terror. Dont send them to jail, hang them. No mercy!

All this is possible when the army, isi, govrrnrmnt, police and courts together will work for eliminate this cancer so I am not sure how realistic it is

The first 2 of these are terrible ideas.

  1. Anyone charged with terrorism cannot be released on bail by any court.
    -This opens the way for politically motivated activity. For example, a month before the election,activists of any political party could have baseless charges of terrorism files against them. Without a bail hearing to determine if they were actually any risk, they would be immediately locked up for weeks or months until a trial could be held

  2. Anyone charged with terrorism must be tried in a security court (s) under uniform code of military justice.
    Again, this opens up the door to abuse. What if the military’s political opponents end up in these courts on trumped up charges?

1-Call centre only to take terrorism in progress calls.

2-1 to tow chopper with high precision guns on, in every city, like fire engine, alert 24 hr.
basically no incident in city should be 10-15 away from that chopper.

3-all public transport, public places equipped with device(made out of android) with panic button.
once button is pressed voice should get activated as well, so call centre can also assess situation.
video additional. work well over cell phone network.

4-police army etc dudes even on vocation carry short distance combat weapon, israeal style.
so if they are EID-ing at home with concealed weapon, bad dude come, army dude take care of him.

5-still some money left ??? buy more spy chopper when some one getting away chase them secretilly to their hide outs.

6- pretty looking little bunker wall around every important place, in way they can only be used one way, from in to out.

1) Declare them non-muslims: Those who take the responsibility of killing people in the holy months when bloodshed is haram, kill people in mosques, funerals etc., call many groups of muslims and even our soldiers as kaafirs, should be declared non-muslims by our parliament.

2) Revoke the citizenship: Those who condone these acts, justify them or refuse to condemn them should have their citizenship revoked and kicked out of this country. their property confiscated and distributed among the affected.

3) Upgrade Police training: It has been almost a decade since we started facing the terrorist activities like suicide bombings in regular succession. Police force seemed to have learned no lesson whatsoever. They are ill-trained to face the menace. I get infuriated when i see them standing in herds (many policemen standing together) without taking proper position and without any strategy to apprehend the attacker and minimize losses.

4) There should be a shadow police force whose members are chosen with strict scrutiny wrt their background and affiliations. This force remain invisible to the general public and work silently towards their goal of fighting terrorists

5) Sentences to the convicted terrorists should be dished out swiftly so that they don't feel like 'untouchables' anymore.

6) Cut funding to organizations and madrisas from Saudi and any other state known for funding terrorists

7) In any incident of terrorism, there are usually points of security lapse. these should not be overlooked and properly, timely investigated and culprits should be apprehended.

8) Use of materials, chemicals commonly employed in making bombs should be limited and strictly scrutinized

9) People using mosques, madrisas etc for spreading hatred against other groups, communities should be put behind bars.

10) intelligence agencies are still working well but their work is not properly followed up by police and other institutions. Intelligence reports should be taken seriously and effective preemptive measures taken.

There is possiblity of involvement of outside agencies to create chaos in the country's northern, southern and western parts in retaliation to support of Pakistani agencies in doing just opposite. This should be stopped. Supporting to Mullah Umar's Taliban and jehadis operating in occupied Kashmir, Afghanistan or in India should be stopped. Unless thinking between people of Pakistan and Pakistan army is not the same on subject of terrorism, nothing will work.

Nip it in the bud people.

  1. Where are the funds of the organizations coming from?
  2. Where these guys are buying weapons from?
  3. How are they recruiting new people?

If we can figure these three things out and cut the supply chain, we can eliminate 75 percent of the problem. And I am but just talking about Taliban, I am also taking about mqm and aman committee jayalay types.

1) source of funds: bhata, ransom money, foreign funding etc.

2) if you have enough money you can buy tanks in Pakistan. no problem

3) a) brainwashing abducted kids to serve as their foot soldiers, suicide bombers etc

Go attack the terrorists in NW.

Make the police truly formidable with modern tech and firepower.

Build a more secure facility to house terrorists. Perhaps an island within our territorial waters some place.

Force all parties to cut ties with any and all suspected terrorist groups, regardless of their names.

If international illegal arms trade and other such activity were so easily countered, they would have done so decades ago. Organized international crime is tough to tackle even for develped nations, Pakistan is small fries.

Some good points above, one more is don't take prisoners when these animals are captured kill them, after all they want to be killed so lets help them.
