I don’t know if this has happened to anyone here, but it happened to me like when I was in 8th or 9th grade…man, that was so long ago.
Anyway.
One of my “friends” at that time was dating - she was Pakistani - and there was this guy that had been after her. She wouldn’t give him much of a lift - for what reasons I really don’t remember. He was definitely a fob and had been in our Islamic school sunday class - other than the fact that he goofed off like a typical boy, I didn’t remember much of him.
So lo and behold, I’m talking to her on the net one day, and she’s telling me about him. She was trying to get me to have a boyfriend, but I couldn’t care less at the time, since most guys our age were idiots anyway. So she was insisting that I meet him, and that he’s so nice, and so wonderful and blah blah blah.
Knowing that she was trying to toss her leftovers on me, I was somewhat offended … that’s not what a friend does for a friend right?
Nevertheless the chump was given my aol addy, and he along with his friends were incessantly messaging me on AOL for some months using new names, since I kept blocking the imbeciles. I never met with them in real life, although I still see the dork sometimes these days at melas and gatherings. All I remember is that I had a friend who wanted to throw her leftoever meat onto my plate, and I remember that I was still friends for some time with her even despite that.
I eventually stopped talking to her, because of this incident.
Have you ever had a friend throw their leftovers on your plate? How did you react?
i enjoy your stories. but in 9th grade... i was busy playing "guddi stop" with my class mates. u should have picked up the leftover..... while u had a chance with someone. really.
not really, lollypop man. I have no qualms about it. LydiaQureishi, I might be a leftover to others, but I don’t care. I like me as I am.
The question is not really about this boy. Its about what you would do if a friend tossed you someone she didn’t like just to get the boy off her back. Is that a sign of good friendship and would you be offended?
Who cares if its leftovers? If it was a good leftover, I'd be happy that my friend has a bad taste (or her own reasoning) and passed it down to me.
When I first looked at the title, I thought you might be referring to backups. I had this one friend and I really wanted to be friends with him, but he had something else in mind, so that was the end of it. Anyway, he definitely wasn't the leftover material, but I'd definitely recommend him to another friend, as he's a great guy, masha'Allah. It's nothing bad.
Friend's exz (potential or real) are off limits! Just like work place people, friend's family (immediate or not)...
I should right a book about this stuff!
Anyway, most of my friends were all over me to get me "hooked up" when they were getting involved. Now since most of 'em are married, most says Don't get involved (same answer from gul and guys) :)
a friend wanted me to pull a game with his GF's best friend .. coz he was tired of them bieng together the whole time .. but that wont realy count as leftover .. wud it ?
i realy dont agree with the term LEFT-OVER .. i mean pcg even u got refused na .. does that suppoz to mean that ur a leftover or something ? i dont think so :)
we are talking about humans here NOT leftover food in a plate, what may not have been right for her may have been right for you.
Left over food can be thrown away, given to beggers or to the dog OR as I have done... given to friend if they want it....you see my friends have no probs with eating from my plate... or I from theirs
on on the same token, if I knew someone who I thought was a decent man I see no reason why he should be disregarded .... unless there was a palpable attraction between the him and the friend.
^ did you just contradict yourself? So if the guy is decent in your opinion, you would not pass him on to a friend?
And if we're not talking about lefover food on the plate, then why the statement "you see my friends have no probs with eating from my plate...or I from theirs"...
