I hate to throw food away but we always have plenty leftovers!! I try to revamp leftover chicken wagera but I need ideas. Post your best leftover creation.
Recently i had bhuni chicken leftover so I shredded it. Boiled Allo and added salt, pepper chaat masala, cheese n spring onions. Made small kababd and eggwashed and breaded them. It was eaten up!!
Parathas can be made from almost everything that doesn't have gravy like daal mash, qeema, gobi - need to add salt and spices but otherwise can be used as is to make parathas in the break fast.
U can either make parathas or rice. Qeema pulao turns excellent when made out of leftover qeema since it has a better blend of spices then we ordinarily would use for making pulao. Any version of meat can be used to make either kababs or u can put that mixture on bread slices, cut them in short saquares n coat with cornflour to deep fry.
With leftover chicken? Fajitas or use it in a healthy lunch of wholemeal roll or pitta with salad and your favourite sauce or mayo. My husband often uses leftover chicken to make caesar salad.
My mom did this.. Leftover chicken a salan or ghosth, she would make briyani out of it. She wouldfry onions, add tomatoes and dahi and aloo and shan briyani masala for the taste and then takr the salan and bhoonify. Add rice on top and hara masala tons of it and gosh it tasted yum!!!!
Oh and leftoer bbq and chicken tend to get smelly for my taste but i bhoonify a tandoori chicken gravy with dahi and timatar, add sauted onion and bell peppers and then chicken. If u cook everything in butter instead of oil and add a bit of milk it sort of taste like chicken makhani!!
my sister learned how to make "sholaa" from her delhi walla susural..you basically take any gosht/chicken salan you have leftover and add palak and rice and it turns into a haleem type dish. soooo good! very comforting!
Leftovers can be used for Pizza topping. I make pizza for scratch or buy the base and add, sauce, cheeses, and different vegetable/meat fom salans. It is out of this world good.
One time my MIL made a huge batch of subzi (carrots, peas, pototoes...etc). Nobody wanted to eat it. I boiled chicken breasts, onions with shami kabab masala and spices . I blended the boiled meat and leftover veggies mixtures and made shami kababs. it was all eaten.
wraps - lightly fry store bought tortillas and then add any leftover meat, add salsa and mozzarella cheese. Roll up wrap and bake at $350. These are super delicious.
the Biryani/Pullao idea is excellent as well. The new creations are definitely appreciated more than leftovers.
Leftover chicken can be used in so many dishes. My personal favourites are making biryani/pulao with it. You can also shred the chicken and toss it in with some fresh veggies, stir fry and add pasta to it.
This one time, I put leftover chicken into the food processor and just gave it a quick whiz, it turned into really fine shredded chicken. I put that generously into mayo, added some finely chopped lettuce, black pepper and salt. Then used brown bread to make sandwiches out of that. They tasted awesome!
My saas used the old rotis by frying them up in oil and running them thru the chopper till its like sand like. Then she mixes sugar n a bit of milk in it and bhoons it for a bit. Its leftover malida!!
sandwich with the left over chicken. I add a few veggies like camsicum, cabbage, tomato and onion then spread the material on slices, sprinkle some shredded pizza cheese and put it in the oven for a few min.
