Lawyers did not fight for present judiciary: Aitzaz
Senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan claimed on Saturday that the present judiciary was not the judiciary the lawyers had fought for. “If the judiciary cannot give a verdict against an outgoing general who is at the exit, how will it dare give a verdict against some incoming general in the future,” asked Aitzaz. Aitzaz said that the 17th Amendment was, of course, an ultra vires of the Constitution but the SC’s Friday verdict had opened the doors for future intervention of generals in politics. “Today was the first show of dictatorship after being certified by the apex court,” he said.

aitzaz ahsan will tell you with a straight face that zardari is not corrupt. so i would be suspicious of any person supported by aizaz ahsan. and cj by not sitting on the bench in the musharraf case proves my theory.

by the same token, u shouldn’t trust a word Mush says..no? After all, he is in bed with people who have more likely siphoned off more money than all the zardari’s combined.

As for the lawyers, they are divided up in their punjabi, pathan alqaeda camps just as the rest of pakistan is divided. Where were these “lawyers” when gunja stormed the supreme court? No punjabi has ever answered me [here or else] how did that happen? I had already seen punjabi hate of musharraf back in 2003-4 when common punjabis would be sad that musharraf didn’t get killed in the explosion. This is to say that musharraf has done a lot for punjab be it the kalabagh / bhasha dams or canals or the army [majority comes from punjab so it can counted as a ‘favor’ as well].
The main problem is that none of these “sons of the soil” ever did anything for the pakistan movement so they nothing about any sort of sacrifices or selfless acts. Bengalis, who fought for pakistan with their blood, left first and I am sure many would be happy if people of karachi disappeared as well.

And if u can't wait for that, after all our sweet heart govt. has been trying hard without luck for 8 years now, then search for "Transparently Corrupt" in this forum. U might find something worth reading.

i love it when people ask for proof for zardari’s corruption given the material available on the net from respectable sources such as u.s. congress. otoh, some people might not know how to use google:

I believe Aitzaz Ahsan appointed a convicted murderer as a judge during his time as PPP govt Interiror Minister, so defending Mr 10% Zardari is not a surprise at all.
