Even I am obsessed with lawn!!! especially in Pak they have great prints. The prices differ from bazaar to bazaar in Lahore, thats the part i belong too

Now a days u can find lawn in such variety of color combos… most of them look like net prints or may be silk prints…

The only problem with lawn is when u wash it

I LOVE lawn so much too. It’s so nice when it’s a new jora, all starched up. Lucky ducks in Pakistan with their dhobis…

You know one of my friends just came back from Karachi and she said that the trouser/pants trend is completely gone (only stayed in the US/UK) and that most people wear shalwar kamiz – she also saw a lot of patialas.

Then my mumani came back a few days ago from Karachi as well and said no one wears shalwars anymore! Everyone wears different types of pants.

I don’t know what to make of that, except that I’ll just get what I like. Screw the trends

patiala is the thing to do these days. and if you can carry it well then i'd say go for a super short kamiz with a patiala. i think if a patiala shalwar is made properly (the perfect length that is) then it wont be like its everywhere...
i saw a dulhan wear a patiala suit on her mehendi and she was walking with her legs spread out eww! and looked like the patiala was wearing her and not the other way round.
i'd say go for super short shirt and a patiala shalwar with not too much ghair (not too voluminous) and the shirt should be well fitted to balance the volume of the shalwar. and please wear heels with it unless you wanna look like aladdin.
but im still a sucker for straight pants and skinny shalwars with short kamiz. i think they are a classic and will pop right back after the patiala craze is over.

oh and capri style pants with knee length sleeveless kammiz has also been around for a while.

its in these days here in karachi and i dont think short shirt ( 30-36inches) with patiala or thick ghera shalwar is going to last longer with that doesnt look modest at all.

Junaid- kameez of 36 inches is not short at all!!! it actually comes below the knee on average heights. haa haa. Short would be 27-30 inches

i dont think on average sizes 36 would come below knee unless if height is 5 - 5ft 2 inches and i dont think these are average heights.
still i think what i said before "36inches" would be on higher side.

ASHHHH:
kapra required for patiala would depend upon your size and width of the fabric.
if width is 1.25 and you size is normal then i guess you would need between 5-5.5 yards for patiala.
if fabric width is 1.75 yards then 3.5-4 yards of fabric for normal sizes.

by perfect length i mean that when u stand wearing the patiala without heels the paincha doesnt reach the floor (because of the weight of the "kali's" or pleats in the shalwar) and the gher isnt too much. i have no idea how much kapra u need for patiala since it depends on your height and weight and the style of patiala you want (more gher or less gher)

5.5 yard is a perfect ratio of cloth which shweetdreamz said. i got made 5 patialas of various colors. it depends on how MUCH layers yani "kalis" you want in them as said b4. otherwise i have seen girls wearing patialas with one side full of flairs and bottom flairs as well.... :)

Thanks Junaid but im 5'5 and 36 hits me just at the knee. I guess i have a shorter torso and longer legs.
