Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Didnt he retire from ISI just yesterday?! And if the news is true he’s jumped into the seat of probably the largest media group now. That pretty much says of how media houses are being run by back door elements especially those who are/were in uniform.

It doesnt leave a good mark of press freedom as well.

It doesnt give a good taste as well.

I couldnt find any verification link yet except the advertisement snap from Bol itself:

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

We can expect more people moving to this channel now.

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Yes but if journalists move to a media group thats fine. A military agency chief joins a media group so soon it just means how that agency has been connected to the media which is certainly not a good news for those who trust media and hope for a unbiased reporting and independent journalism.

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

So that is what GEO was under fire? because BOL was to be joined by the DG ISI??? and DG ISI started his mission, i.e. minimize the market share of competitors and increasing the same for your own organization... no wonder GEO went wild against him...

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Its own by Malik Riaz…this is their promo video.

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Who is RAW's chief? Who was the last one. What are the retired ones doing right now? What about current and former army chiefs? Barely anyone knows even in India.

In Pakistan Army and ISI chiefs are treated like kings, that shows you how big of a players they are in running the country.

BTW, shouldnt there be laws which restrict top office holders to join private industries even after retirement. So many secrets and power still vests in them. Imagine this guy taking interview of any politician, he knows everything about them and their entire family.

The question is, is BOL pro-PTI protests or not? That would be interesting to know.

That immediately came in my mind too. But you know, no one jokes with ISI chief

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

a new Mubashir Luqman

Where is Malik Riaz ?

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Malik Riaz do not do business under cover, neither he needs to do business under cover. All his business interests are in his name, so obviously, whoever started ‘Bol’ cannot be ‘Malik Riaz’.

According to some news, the channel (BOL) belongs to Dawood Ibrahim. Dawood Ibrahim is doing business in Pakistan running a company call Axact using his front man Shoaib Shaikh.

But who knows, maybe Shoaib Shaikh (suppose to be owner of Axact) is real owner. Though reading about Shoaib Shaikh background, reading about business activities of Axact, and the way Axact is throwing money on BOL before launch, it seems very unlikely what is happening could happen without black money involved, and without involvement of some big crime syndicate having good connections at high position.

Axact is the owner of media company BOl. Kamran Khan is taken away from GEO to head as President and Editor-in-Chief of Bol. Mazhar Abbas has also joined Bol (Mazhar Abbas is brother of ex-DG ISPR Athar Abbas and two other Pakistani top journalists Zafar Abbas and Azhar Abbas)

It is also believed that Dawood Ibrahim has close relationship with ISI. So, if ISI ex-chief joins Bol then there is no need to get surprised. From what I know, a government servant once retires, can join any government or private enterprise, though he could not join politics for two years.

Dawood Ibrahim and software company Exact.

Khara-Sach (on BOl TV):

Speech of Shoaib Shaikh who started BOl and is ‘Chairman and CEO’ of BOL.

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

^^ Money game again (And as always). BOL is new GEO. The only difference is the name. But it will work for the same 'interest groups' as GEO did. I think they had to do this due to wide spread notoriety GEO has earned as the 'Traitor network". They have created a new network which Pakistanis would trust just like they trusted GEO but it will feed the same BS to Pakistanis as GEO did. I think it's just the change of name. Everything else will be the same. And if Im not mistaken, initially, money was thrown to build GEO by the same DI network. It's just a matter of time when BOL becomes GEO... Just like a new political party is created in Pakistan when the older ones 'deny orders' or lose popularity... Same thing with media.

BOL, with its controversial affiliation with ISI and dynamic advertising has shocked the big media houses in Pakistan. It’s said that BOL is targeted to hit GEO and Group and BOL owners, with the name of Axact company, are going to hire big names of Geo Network and other channels on very luring incentives. They are offering huge salaries, except the lavish lifestyle that they would offer to their employees.Just see what they are saying on their official website.

Re: Latest Ex-ISI chief Zahir-ul-Islam now in BOL TV??

Summer is not over yet in Pakistan but the Big Birds of Pakistani Media have already started the migration to warmer and greener pastures. With the advent of Bol Network in the Pakistani Media, a shockwave has been created, ripple effects of which can be seen throughout the media scene in Pakistan. From Newscasters & leading Anchorpersons to the top management of all leading media groups of Pakistan have allegedly signed on to become the part of , what Bol TV terms as, “ The Media Revolution” in Pakistan.
As per the latest buzz in the media circles, many big names in Pakistani Television and Print industry, including Geo Network’s pioneer anchorperson Kamran Khan as well as previously associated anchorperson Sana Bucha, Express News’ Shahzeb Khanzada, Director (News) Dawn News Zahid Mazhar and Samaa TV’s previously headlining anchor Jasmine Manzoor, are billed to be the part of the upcoming Bol Network.
Other than the on-camera professionals, the top management and technical staff are also said to be making the move to BOL; with MD Geo Network, Azhar Abbas resigning from their GEO network is rumored to already have joined BOL TV.
While few consider this pool of powerful media personalities at one platform a red flag for all other media houses who would have to face a tough competition from a newcomer in the race for ratings and ultimately, advertisement revenue; many journalists and media personalities consider the start of BOL TV a change, that will provide good working conditions and employment opportunities for the present and upcoming media professionals. Along with it, a new media house with a pool of experienced media professionals might put an end to the tyranny created by a few media houses and will prove to be a step towards developing a more mature and responsible Pakistani media. Only the time will unfold if the claimed media revolution will do its bidding or not.
BOL is aiming at sabotaging GEO, owned by Jang Group. Some analysts have hinted that recent controversy between IS and GEO is because of BOL as GEO believes that ISI is backing BOL to destroy GEO..If you remember, days back THE NEWS (English Journal owned by GEO and Jang Group) filed a story in which the reporter alleged ISI of backing BOL Group. The reporter also alleged that Dawood Ibrahim, an India UNDERWORLD down known for his links with ISI) is investing in BOL on the instruction of ISI.Later.This story was published in Hindustan Times on the request of Jang, as claimed by Mubashir Luqman.Later it proved a propaganda against ISI and HT issued aclarification about this story, removed the story and offered an official aplogy. So it’s obvious that BOL has become a threat for GEO.If you see in this contest, you would know the reason of recent conflict of GEO with ISI.

Dawood Ibrahim, ISI launching BOL TV’: Indian media begins new campaign against Pakistan.

Despite the fact that upcoming new television channel BOL TV is owned by Axact, the leading Pakistani software company, Indian media claims that the channel is a joint venture of Dawood Ibrahim, the famouse underworld don, and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), the premier spy agency of Pakistan.

“Dawood is set to launch an entertainment based television channel by year end. A hefty amount is being offered as remuneration to work in the channel,” India TV claimed without providing any official source.

The report further said, “Dawood has awarded the responsibility of the channel to Chhota Shakeel who personally met some journalists and offered them a job in the channel.”

BOL has its targets high and wants to upstage GEO TV, which is owned by the Jang Group.

In another report, Time of India — which also running a ‘peace campaign’ “Aman Ki Asha” in collaboration with Jang Group/Geo TV — claimed, “according to people who were close to the process of setting up the new channel privately confirm that the two main parties are gangster-turned-terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan’s premier spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence. They say the ISI has adopted this strategy as the country’s broadcast media has become increasingly independent and critical of the ISI’s activities.”

The BOL Network had responded to what it says is a defamation campaign against them by publishing lengthy details on its website. The network had sent defamation notices to several journalist including two employees of the Jang/Geo group.

Let see how the network and the ISI respond to new allegations.
