This episode reminds me of Geo's Nadia Khan show when she was fired for having a belly dancer give out tips on belly dancing in a Ramzaan show.
She was trying to make Ramzaan 'fun'. :)
MQ please shed light on the fun aspect of the Hindu festival/celebration of Holi and the boring aspect of the Muslim festival/celebration of Ramzaan. Or is it wrong to call Ramzaan a festival ?

Shaista's show has been suspended... I think going by nadia's case thats the end of shaista's hosting.......keeping what geo did aside....our rest of the channels are equally destroying our religious/cultural/moral values and the dog fight between these big two channels is sickening.....all following their own agendas.

This qawalli is commonly played at weddings, especially Shia ones.
Even ARY themselves played it at a wedding.
Worst that can be said about this was it was in bad taste.
But calling it blasphemy, in the current atmosphere, is incitement to violence.

Lives of Geo employess, inclusing Shaista Lodhi, have been put at risk irresponsibly - echoes of Salman Taseer.
