I wasn’t really into curling my lashes, simply b/c I found it to be a worthless extra step but I realized it makes a HUGE difference in the way it makes your eyes pop and look so much more feminine and gorgeous b/c of the curl and mascara.
I used to use a Shu Uemura one prior to getting my Chanel one and I’m in love. The Chanel one is very rounded so it’s perfect for desi eyes. It fits my deep-set long almond eyes perfect! Surprisingly, it’s also made in Japan like the Shu one which makes me think Shu might have created the Chanel one, not sure since Chanel things are always made in France. Anyways!
Do you guys use one and how do you like the results? Or are you lucky enough to have curled lashes already (mine aren’t straight but not curled and flared up as I prefer)?
Yes of course, otherwise why bother! I just don't have time to do it everyday and I don't think it's a good idea to put stress on the lashes too often.
I find them really rubbish. I know some girls who use them after they put their mascara on but that only kinks the eyelashes and its a bit dangerous to do that. Maybe i'm just not using the right eyelash curler. They just dont work on me at all : (
One of my best friends does it, its quite effective but i've never try it cos i'm too scared of pulling my eyelashes out :(
But every time I try it, i just get a better job with my actual mascara than the lash curler
I never used to use a curler either because mine are kinda naturally curled anyway. But I decided to embrace one and they make a MUHASSIVE difference...they seem to elongate the lashes too and really open the eye. I only use some cheapo drugstore one, but it does its job. Does the brand matter? Has anybody tried heated curlers? I'm a li'l scared to try anything like that, given what hair straighteners have done to me.
I don't wear make-up daily...but when I do wear it (especially in the evenings), I always curl my lashes. I use whatever is the cheapest at CVS, Ulta etc. And yes, for me it makes a major difference. For special occassions, I "heat" the curler using my blow dryer (heat for a few SECONDS)....this makes the "effect" a little more dramatic and longer lasting.
^Yup, the blowdryer method is quite good, I know a few people who do that on their metal curler. I used to have a heated curler a few years ago which was quite good but it felt weird feeling the heat on the lid.
Didn’t know that, everything I have by Chanel is made in France, except the curler.
Curling after just creates a crimp and clumps the lashes together although I know some makeup artists who curl after. Like, they’ll apply lashes, mascara and curl. I wouldn’t do that though.
Yes, I use my eyelash curler...used it this morning, in fact. I slept pretty late the night before and I didn't want to start off the work week looking like a zombie...especially when I had a new top to go with my dress pants, lol. And I avoid wearing foundation...so I used the curler..so it would make the lashes stand out more...make my eyes appear more open/less tired.
If you warm up your curler with a blow dryer for a few second (do a temp check) and curl your lashes...the heat really makes a difference. And also if you hold it down for for about 10 seconds and repeat. I like the curved mascara wand by Lancome and how it fits the lashes better. I also like Great Lash by Maybelline.......it's light.....and I feel that you can apply more coats of it without it clumping your lashes as some of the more thicker varieties end up doing.
