Can anyone reccomend any good places to get laser hair removal in london. Just new to the area. Preferably someone who has had success with Desi Skin and proven results and roughly how much is for whole face.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Laser in London
I used to go to Boston Anesthetic Clinic in Bayswater. All the local arabs go there. Asian skin laser they use in coolglide. They're professional and the cheapest ive seen.
Full face is 90 pounds I believe.
Thank you Kindly. :)
I get my laser done at the royal free hospital, they are all professionally trained nurses or If u wish u can get it done by the doctor.
they charge £80 for 15 minutes ( I usually get my full face and another part of my body done in this time)
they will ask u to come in for a consultation and test patch where they will go thro everything in detail with u. (I cant remember how much the charge is now. but I think it will be discounted from ur first treatment).

You've had laser hair removal???
I opened a thread in fashion section regarding this....
... I dont know if I should get it done as I have heard bad things about laser making more hair grow in the skin surrounding the areas where you got treatment.
How many treatments have you had? When was your last treatment? How were your results?
Be careful to not get pigmentation. I got that on my forehead and it will never go away. You cant usually see it but on a high flash camera... boy :( When they say use a SPF. They are not just saying it!
Its annoying because the hair gets killed inside and then it needs to grow out and fall out. So i'd say a good 7-10 days are a pain especially if you have had your face done with stubbly bits coming out of your face. Not attractive.
They turn up the heat on every visit. PLEASE do not go at any point near your monthly's. I am such a ditz I gone everytime on or around that time and its hurt :( Well face will hurt anyway because or any boney area.
They have to shave the area first which takes alot of getting used to. From a young age ive always been told shaving makes hair grow back thicker and quicker.
BUT
When all of that is over it feels and looks amazing when the hair is out. It lasts months. I have had 4 treatments so far. Last one was in January, wow I totally forgot. So there you go it definitely does reduce the thickness of hair. Some of my hair never grew back! But dont count on that just in case and you end up disappointed. I'd get it done all over my body if I wasnt a sissy and could afford it!
Re: Laser in London
I've been using SPF100... my appointment is scheduled for friday.
What kind of laser did they use on you?
Re: Laser in London
Coolglide.... enjoy!
Re: Laser in London
coolglide? I have not heard of it. I just hope i dont get any scarring of discoloration... :/
Re: Laser in London
I don't think anyone is reading the information in my posts.
Desi skin tones (Type IV and up) can only be treated with a YAG Laser containing machine.
The Coolglide is an Nd:YAG machine manufactured by Cutera.
As I said in the other thread, the GentleYAG and the Apogee Elite are better YAG machines.
I don't understand how people are prepared to undergo something like this without so little understanding of hair cycles, machine types, settings, side effects etc.
Re: Laser in London
I am getting it done with a gentle yag, it releases a cooling mist after the laser.
IPL HAIR REMOVAL VS LASER HAIR REMOVAL
We do not use IPL for hair removal anymore, although there is nothing wrong with it. We use Coolglide for Hair Removal nowadays. Coolglide can even treat darker skinned Asian whereas IPL can only be used on fair Asian or Caucasian skin types I-II (Fitzpatrick).

Coolglide is used by everyone for dark skin ie ASIAN skin
Since you are stuck on actually doing this, why don’t you go to the clinic CE went to?
I recommended this one to her as your treatment is carried out by nurses or doctors, so the likelihood of scaring is much less. Providing the right kind of Laser is being used for one’s skin type, undertreatment, overtreatment or scarring is nearly always the fault of the technician, so you need someone experienced.
My clinic is Renew Medica Oxford Circus branch and I get treated only one Laser technician who is very good. But I only advise it for the body (legs, underarms, bikini, arms)!
That’s a load of marketing crap. I don’t like IPL as it is not very effective but the whole point of IPL is that is can treat all skin types and has minimal pain involved.
Re: Laser in London
Stoppit I am in the US are there clinics available in the US?

Oh sorry, I'm getting so confused now between who is who. I had Laser in London on my mind and since you are mainly posting, thought you had asked the Q!
For the OP, if you think you are set on doing this on your face, the clinic CE mentioned is a better choice.
For Desi_BeauTii - GentleYAG will be fine but you need to find out more about your clinic and see if people recommend it. Have your test patch and try to wait 2 months before actually starting treatment. This is enough time for the hair to shed and the next cycle to fully come through. If the test patch settings were effective, the hair that was there initially shouldn't come back.
Re: Laser in London
haha yeah. Everything seems reasonable where I am going, other than their rotating technicians policy, but I'm not too worried. I am going to go ahead and go through with it, as I am in a very bad sitatuion. I will update you on Monday regarding my appointment.

If you like your first technician and you decide to continue, try to always book with her, treatments will be much better.
Also, even though you are supposed to shave before each treatment, I advise people to leave a small patch of hair for the tech to have a look at. They will then shave it for you before starting treatment. This way they can tailor the settings more appropriately for the type of hair there, rather than just guessing what they should be given your last settings.
Re: Laser in London
Yes I agree. I will definitely do that.
I have been wearing SPF100 as well, I am trying to take care of my skin to the best of my ability....
.... No amusement parks, BBQs, Picnics, or outdoor sports for me this summer.
Re: Laser in London
