Re: Laser eye surgery
I had Lasik wavefront surgery just over a year ago, and after wearing glasses and contacts for over twenty years I can say it’s the best decision I ever made.
I had a pretty strong prescription of -7 and -8 as well as dry eyes and astigmatism and always assumed laser surgery wouldn’t be an option. The surgery itself was painful once the painkillers wore off, but it didn’t last long and I just went to sleep and when I woke up I was fine. What was amazing was being able to see clearly immediately after the surgery, even though there was a slight mist due to all the drops in my eyes.
The only side effect I have had is that of dry eyes, which I had pre surgery anyway but the surgery has definetely worsened it. However, I feel the benefits of having had the surgery far outweigh the pain of having to carry around eye gel.
Actually, the most painful part of the surgery was the bill - £4,800. Ouch ![]()
