Nice and Funny. I have personally not had problems saying zameen or zindagi with the z pronounciation. Do you think many Indians don’t use Z because it is not a part of any Indian alphabet or alpha syllabary? 
As far as I know, U cannot write z words in atleast 2 S Indian langs. So even Zebra is written sort of like jeebra.
Bengalis use ‘Au’ or ‘O’ instead of ‘A’ .
