I have two laptops, HP and Acer , and i hate them both .......i have one chinese version of andriod tablet courtsey of my brothers trip to china, for some odd reason i prefer the Acer one even though its battery sucks big time.

It should have been more individualized as you can't use all the computers at home.

As for your gupshup household survey, we have 5 laptops and 1 desktop. I prefer laptops due to the mobility factor, as one can move even desktop replacements to a different room / place if it is required immediately unlike a desktop, though desktops do have more updating power and potentially more gaming power because of it.

1 desktop (mine) and 3 laptops (mom, dad and sister). I never liked laptops really. Desktops are so much easier to work on...

I started off with a 8086 back in 1987! But yeah the 486 architecture with a math floating point coprocessor was a huge breakthrough!

My first desktop was IBM machine in 1993, first laptop was ibook in 1999 i was 14 at that time, i received it as a birthday gift.

Current Inventory at home is 5 laptops, two desktops & an ipad.

3 desktops, 1 I'm using, one whose hard drive failed and one that I haven't used for years but could potentially work.
4 laptops - 3 that are used and 1 that still works but hasn't been used in a while.

1 desktop and 3 laptops.

The desktop is a dell we've had for about 6 years, it was used a lot in its first few years but now is only used now and then.

First desktop we had was a second hand computer (dont remember the make) when i was about 12.

Laptop 1 is actually my brothers's that he left here after buying a new one just before leaving home for uni.
Laptop 2 (an Advent)is the first laptop I ever had, actually a late wedding gift from my sister to both me and hubby.
And Laptop 3 is a Sony Vaio hubby bought for us in December, so our first laptop is not in use anymore.

1 desktop that my husband uses for work
1 desktop that was mine but then hubby started using it
1 laptop (mac) that he uses for recreation
1 old laptop that was his but then I took it over but now it just sits there

my laptop....my first computer that I ever bought on my own
