I was wondering how lives turn into when you get married to someone you dont know much about. On top of that how would it feel if you have already fallen in love earlier with someone but things didnt work out and then your parents get you married. Can you all share yur personal experiences if you have gone through the same situations in life. How did it turn out for you guys?

On a serious note, both love marriage and arrange marriages have equal chances of being successful. You can't guarantee which one will be more successful. Try your level best to choose the best proposal in the arranged setting, know the guy and his family before making the commitment, do all the investigation, pray istikhara and then take the plunge by saying ALLAH O AKBAR :p Agay jo hoga dekha jai ga :p

if you buy a ticket to karachi, get on the islamabad train, and reach islamabad complaining - thats stupidity

hey comon guys im stressed out here lets just get over the landing part well actually i landed up on an unknown island :-p

@ ashy: yeh we know them pretty well as they are our relatives so all good on tha part.

The thing that is bothering me is that i am born and raised up here in UAE and he back in Pakistan. It freaks me out completly! The mentality difference everything on every level is different totally devastated

what education does he have?
what is his family like?
how well do you know him?

well using your example i would put forward the case as saying that i didnt wana freaking travel on the train to anywhere in Pakistan at all !! lol

But is there really that much of a mentality difference? Maybe I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the people in the UAE are still very cultured with the huge desi population and access to clothes, etc. The UAE is also close to Pakistan, so I'm guessing you went back to Pakistan often for long vacations. He's your relative so he's seen you and how you are your entire life.

If the guy is from a village, then yeah, I'd understand your worries.

My dear the culture is not the issue here. But livestyle with different choices is an issue. Interests experiences everything different. If you could just be in my shoes it would be clear enough.

happened to one of my best friend. she is greek, fell in love with sikh surgeon. he was also interested. he took her to his family. his family was good with her but they took the guy back to india and got him married to a sikh-punjabi kuri. now 6 months he is in vancouver and 6 months he is in toronto.

my this friend is very spiritual but she was meeting serious brown ass h****. (she told me a lot of her personal stories with Pakistani docs)

now she met a Portuguese architect. and she is happy. i hope she dont ever look back.

He studied dentistry, law and currently appearing for a CSS exam. Working as an Assistant Commissionaire ans in two years time will be promoted to the post of Deputy Comissionaire * dont really know what that job is all about* . His family is friendly all kool on that part but really out of fashion lol. He is from the same khandaan so know them pretty well.

So what conclusion do you come to? Good or bad?

where is he posted i mean which city. the stronger your references are the better (usually it terms in corruption) place/city/district you will be posted at.
CSS dont hold any more charm as it used to. the only good thing it will get u as a wife is you will get maids who will do everything.

btw, if he studied dentistry and then did his LLB and then CSS...seems like he is struggling a lot. is he a son of some bureaucrat?
