Bander Road refers to the word “Bander Gaah” or “Port” (Sea Port) …

since the road is going to the sea port…

Lalukhet does not come on the itenarary of this famous 60's song! But even this mentions lalukhet.

Lakhshmi building is near Tower and Lalukhet is some 12 KM away from it.

Lalukhet is often disgraced by many guppies here in GS and that saddens me. I am a born Lalukheti.

Lalu khet was one of earliest immigrants colonies in Karachi … many famous personalities have lived there .. Including the famous poet Ustad Qamar jalalvi AKA *chal mere hamNasheeN chal kaheen or ch*al fame ….

I have heard that Government provided materials to people for building their JuuGi’yan small huts ] . ….

Lalukhet came into lime light during 1965 war when India claimed that it had destroyed its airport! But there was no such thing ever there.

Mostar bhai , I have heard that Z A Bhutto received some harsh treatment from Lalu kheties in his early days ?

any insight on this story ?

Yes indeed. And that was really very sad. ZAB did a lot of things for LaluKhet: he constructed the 2nd track of Tin Hatti brigde over Lyari River, the Liaqatabad Subway and the 12 storey Liaqatabad Super Market - the first of its kind in Karachi.

When he came to inaugerate this building in 1976, some of the hooligians shouted slogans against him and tried to hurl nasty things on him.

Yes I was born in lalu khet, and yes it is in Karachi. Now lalo khet is shifting from liaqatbad to layari. And no foreign people (I mean you) can come there. Infact I don't go there as well because I shifted to lahore. :(
