i am going to bite (in the leg) the next person who posts a news article (which are usually 4 hours old) reporting that he's ready to surrender. We want fresh updates, fresher than what we can get on Aaj TV. No posting of news article please. i think seeing that there isnt' much problem elsewhere in the country, musharraf and company have gained courage and see no need to rush things. Seeing that they don't have the time limitation they thought they had in the beginning of the siege, they have decided to go old style --- pound the militants every four hours, keep them awake, hot, and hungry. and break their resistance to the point where most of hte people come out begging on their own..

i intend to write an analysis/reaction/wise thoughts from the all knowing Sir Dig after thsi incident is over (ahh, the humility) about how we (Muslims in general and pakistani's in particular) lack intelligent leadership from our religiuos circles. For decades we left the responsibility of running the mosques to "shamans" -- people who couldn't find jobs or had no skills and just started running mosques after memorizing some arabic verses. Overtime, the uneducated, mostly rural shamans, who have never played any contributory role in the society other than being a reciter of verses, took over, and decided to play "AALIMS." The actual leadership, or what could have been, at this point, is now too weak too stand up to these shamans. Javed Ghamdi and people of his type (even Israr Ahmed whom i don't like) have credibility as scholars, but unfortunately, they have no influence left over this shaman creed who have spread everywhere, and now represent Islam.
If you think about it, we let the least capable, least educated, least experienced people take over our religous leadership (and no, Rashid ghazi is not all that, but the small shamans throughout the country enable a religious environment where corrupt people (though educated) like Rashid can thrive

LIFTas and PADOs are all highly educated. It is the mAIDS virus that turns an educated person into terrorist zombie. Just see the perpetrators of recent terror, most of them are highly educated.
So let's quit blaming the uneducated MAToos. The only way to treat mAIDS infected terrorists is to hang them high and burn their corpses. It is time to completely destroy the LIFTas and PADOs.
