Exactly. Geo is still showing interviews of people asking for negotiations. The goverment negotiated for six months and was blamed for drama and inaction. Doesn't matter what the govt does, people will find a way to crticise and come come up with a conspiracy theory.

After reading this report I am seriously questioning the motives of these “lawyers”
KARACHI, July 4: In reaction to the operation against the administration of Islamabad’s Lal Masjid, the legal fraternity on Wednesday condemned the government and said that instead of killing their own people, the rulers should take action against the Nato forces that repeatedly targeted people in Pakistan.
These views were expressed at a general body meeting of the Karachi Bar Association held at the Shuhada-i-Punjab Hall during a one-hour boycott from court proceedings between 10.30am to 11.30am.
Pakistan Bar Council member Mohammad Yasin Azad, KBA President Iftikhar Javaid Qazi, General-Secretary Naeem Qureshi, World Reforms Commission Chairman Maqbool-ur-Rehman, KBA Managing Committee members Abdul Hafeez Baloch, K.K. Javaid Khan, Saeed Qureshi, and National People’s Lawyers Forum President Mushtaq Ahmed Awan spoke on the occasion.
‘Operation illegal’
The speakers condemned the government for what they said was its illegal operation against the students of Lal Masjid and said the government had aggravated the issue.
Referring to the government’s statement about maintaining its writ, the speakers said the powers that be should not maintain their writ by killing their own people, but should instead move against the Nato forces which, in violation of international rules, were targeting people on Pakistani soil.
About the operations in Balochistan, South Waziristan, Wana and other tribal agencies, they alleged President Pervez Musharraf was serving the interests of Zionist forces in order to get their support for prolonging his ‘unconstitutional tenure.’
They warned that if the government did not stop the military operations, the people would come to the streets against the army. This, they said, would be the most unfortunate day in the history of the country.

zakk and degas are two of those people who cannot separate 'govt of pakistan' from 'state of pakistan' and while they may not necessarily support lal masjid, they will not lose this opportunity to criticize the govt for carrying out the operation.
We have a large number of people who EVEN NOW claim that more time needed to be given before carrying out an operation against these Mullahs. Can you just imagine how vociferous their opposition would have been five months ago!

I have been away from this forum for a year now as protest against the blind censorship of some mods. However I can’t stay away from expressing my sorrow in the backdrop of what’s happening in Islamabad.
Just like you all, I have witnessed with deep sadness the events unfolding in the Lallu-occupied Lal Masjid. My heart cries for my beautiful city, and the tarnishing of my country’s image. So far a brave trooper and a bold cameraman have lost their precious lives due the terrorism of the Lallumasjid Islamo Fascist Talibs (or simply a bunch of LIFTas).
The LIFTas have proven my point that Islamo Fascism has for a number of years become a different kind of AIDS threat called MAToo-AIDS (mAIDS) to Pakistan and the whole world.
While the Pakistani intellectuals slept in their comfy Islamabad homes (and on this board), the LIFTas were busy injecting their deadly and fascistic virus straight into the behinds of their blind followers.
Sadly the virus infects the educated and uneducated alike. Look at the LIFTas then look at the Palestinian Arab DOctor fire bombers (the PADOs) and their mAIDS infected swollen behinds.
Once infecting the behinds of Talibs and PADOs, the virus seems to travel straight up to the few remaining brain cells and turns the infected person into a copy of the maddest Mullah called OBL. These drones or copies of OBL then leave their hideouts and bring death and destruction to the unsuspecting populace.
LIFTa leaders like this Gizzard Gazzi have no qualms of wearing a burqa and hide behind women and children. This is what mAIDS does to the MAToos. They happily kill innocent women and children all in the name of Islamo Fascism.
There is no cure for the mAIDS virus. All the infected LIFTas and PADOs must be kept in quarantine if captured, or killed on sight and their bodies burned immediately so that mAIDS virus doesn’t get a chance to infect anyone else’s behind.
Sure we should try to save as many “women” and “children” from the LIFTa-occupied masjid. However make sure they are never allowed to go back in the society. Otherwise (and mark my words) the mAIDS virus will continue to be injected in the behinds of unsuspecting doctors and talibs alike.
May Allah save us from LIFTas, PADOs and their mAIDS virus. Ameen.

ary was successfully able to insert itself in the news -- that they seemed to be hell bent upon. A couple of their reporters managed to get to the areas closer tot he mosque and as a result were slightly beaten by the security ppl, and they are now claiming media were not given protection and blah blah....these ppl dont get it -- govt said there is crossfire in the area and they should stay behind. Media do not have the right to demand to be in the front of the action and want protection too. when they were allowed to go everywhere, one of them died, and they are openly blaming the govt for it. ARY ppl were trying to make it about the govt and themselves for the past 3 days, and they have finally succeeded.

the ary reporter, who was briefly detained was being interviewed by studio anchor accidentally slipped that he was trying to be aggressive so that "he could provide more information than the otehr reporters who are following security folks' instructions" -- this may win him favors with the ARY hierarchy, and even public as our public evidently lacks the capacity from recognizing and criticizing inappropriate behavior, unless it is "apparently unislamic or about girls or sex."
Govt simply spread the gossip that this reporter was trying to have sex on the street and his career is then doomed :D
