Good God!!! Saara din saari raat, and again saara din and rat here again, deadline after deadline. Nation’s patience being tested like never before.
I couldn’t help but think of how the SSG Commandos at Dhaka 0n 25 March 1971 were able to so swiftly break into Mujeeb’s home and capture him with only a a few shots fired and only 2 casualties if i recall right. It was just one battalion and only 1 Coy that eneterd the compund at night and they had him and his militants.
It’s really no big deal for the govt to take them out in 30 mins…smajh se bahar hai what the tamasha is all abt now…plus we hear the Ghazi brathran are nowhere to be seen since last night. Some cannels say they arent in the mosque!
This better end soon…

Many of these people are innocent who are held by nutty mullahs in the masjid against their will, and govt shouldn’t kill them if they give up w/o fight.

Haris, the reason they didnt complete the operation last night was to evacuate the people who were only there for day to day operations of the facility and didnt necessarily want anything to do with this standoff. Durign the daylight, army probably didnt want to commence the operation anyway, but they probably kept pretending otherwise to force as many people out as possible. Now as we are approaching dark, I am sure they'll start smoking them out.

It's what they call a standoff, and this is in fact a good thing.
The use of paramilitary/military forces against a nation's own civilians is a worse optic than Taliban-like behavior from these guys. It's the sign of a tin pot dictatorship, not a nation of laws.
This needs to be a police action, nothing more or less.
Does pakistan have no SWAT teams?

One thign is for sure though, we dont want to hear from ANY mullah supporter that government committed bloodshed, because after waiting for five months, these nuts were STILL given enough opportunities int he past 30 hours to vacate the place.

this was a good move in the long run, but too heavy on our patience.
I'd like to hope too that this 7:30 warning is the last. It's dark now and anyone who wouldve wanted to leave wouldve left by now.

I wonder when the operation starts, what sort willit actually be. Will commandos sling into the copund through choppers. Will there be shelling and fring cover for troops to barge in and then heavy gun battle? Or will they start pounding them with heavy weapons right away.

Pic, It's a bit beyond Police now. Had our Police been diff from how it is it may have been trusted with this. They do have SWAT teams. But not comparale to the higher standards maintained by Para Military Rangers or the Army and its Specials.
