About 500-700 students (mainly female) have surrendered. Government has given 5000 rupees and amnesty to all students who leave - but says masjid leaders and other males involved in killings will be prosecuted.
Only the hard core is now being left inside. This will end soon.
Lal Masjid have deployed their secret weapon. They have a woman leading prayers calling for angels to come down and help them :rotfl:

Without knowing if the audience was all female or not, you can't judge them :p
If the jamaat consisted of just all females (as would be likely if the men have all been sent to hold the defensive perimeter), then a woman leading is all good.

This is probably the most well coordinated, the most well thought out, the most patient, and the most efficient operation any Pakistani government has ever performed against any elements.
On the other hand, it is evident that the only people sticking to their guns in the mosque (the leaders anyway, not the poor kids) are neither friends of Pakistan nor Islam. They are at best misguided, and at worst enemy of the state. They have been given ample opportunities, and even the Mullahs from rest of the country are trying to convince them, but no, the Ghazi assholes think they are the all knowing Muftis of Pakistan.

Here is a link to an article on CNN/TIMES… I personally don’t think that people responsible for this pandemonium are true believers. They are simply professional hostage takers-- be it our citizens, workers from abroad, police officers, our city’s tranquility or our beloved religion itself. I just wonder why these uncompromising people are so angry and find it, for the most part, hard to get along with others.
Anyways, found it to be an interesting read as it gives us some inside on ‘students’ perspective.
