hey man, all the folks who were concerned about the younger folks there are girls etc, Now the govt has made it possible for them to leave. The question now whether the terrorists in lal masjid will allow ppl to leave if people want to leave? In which case it becomes a hostage situation..and very tricky.

i think the reaction from and against lal masjid is a small 'model' of whats happening in uk,australia,usa since 9/11 and right now.....!!!
this masjid has been in islamabad for about 20 yrs...long time!!!...and NO ONE including the presidents(numerous),prime ministers(atleast a dozen),army chiefs(atleast 6-7) and even the residents of islamabad had ANY problem with the mosque...
u see when u want to promote 'enlightened moderation'...u have to take it very slowly...step by step...and not by the rapid pace the present gov is trying to do...
this country of 160 million has probably 10 million who r 'ready' for this moderation concept and the rest of 150 million(abt 95%) need to be 'prepared'...
alcohol,prostitution,fashion shows...all this stuff is not accepted easily by the 'masses'...meaning 150 million.... in pakistan... when u have severe power crises, floods,steep inflation...making life MISERABLE for atleast half of the country,pathetic public health care system, .....and much more ....and people who still differentiate on the basis of punjabis,balochis,pathans,sindhis and mohajirs!!!

btw u have been away too long, not only am I not politically correct anymore, I am considered a mod muslim secular degenerate :D so I guess some ppl dont think I am trying to be politically correct.

also a question is does police use their equipoment on diff frequencies and all after their devices have been stolen, cuz otherwise lal masjid lamers will have advance notice of all teh cops are trying to do.

First deadline for them to surrender is 330 a.m. 45 minutes from now.
Police, rangers and army have taken positions and will announce the curfew to lal masjid admin around 3 am.
All ulemas (fazlurrehman etc who went to negotiate with them have failed to convince Lal masjid admin to surrender. But according to reporters, cheif maulvi abdul aziz has had basharat that operation is going to happen. Bravo Maulvi sahab!
