What makes you think I didn’t. :omg:

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

The most telling fact is that 24 hours from the point where the army said that the operation would be over in 4 hours, it is still in progress.

This shows that the military was forced by circumstances to act before it had enough intelligence gathered about the enemy and their location within the complex. In turn, this accounts for the high casualties. When attacking an unknown number of enemies on terrain that our forces were unfamiliar with, it is unsurprising that we suffered nearly 40 casualties including 10 fatalities. The only mercy is that it was in fact much worse.

Normally when committing forces to an attack, military leaders are well briefed with reconnaisance data about the terrain and the opposition they will be facing. Faced with almost the worst possible situation at Lal Masjid, by contrast, our boys did a fantastic job under very adverse circumstances.

TheRealDeal, the fact that a senior SSG officer died is not a reflection of bad performance; rather it is a reflection of the "lead from the front" ethos that the Pakistan Army inherited from the British Army.

Look Shawaiz Khan yara, if someone is out there to find a conspiracy, they will find it anyways. Heck paranoid folks find conspiracies every time they visit the bath room. The color is yellow, it must be a government conspiracy, the color is green this must be a USA conspiracy, the color is purple, God must be conspiring.

The real reason is always simple, you $hite what you eat and there ain't no conspiracy shunpiracy in it.

Coming back to your question! Mullah Gizzi Gizzard was let go with a slap on his wrist many a times, precisely for the reasons we see now.

What are those reasons? Here is a short list.

  1. Lefties and so called liberals are out to lynch the government, and
  2. the fanatics are burning tires and blocking roads in Fittay-Moonh FATA.
  3. Indi-media with few exceptions is sobbing non-stop remembering the gizzard, giving his halat-e-zindgi,
  4. Wafaq-ul-Madarees is accusing the government
  5. Playboy Imran Khan (who earned my respect for calling Karachi's spade a spade) is now sleeping with the Ullu-Ma Garaams.

and the list goes on.

Few examples of sane behavior are the editorials in daily times and frontier post. Politikos like BB and Altaf have come out supporting the government with punch lines solely directed for their own grand mafioso designs.

So there you have it. Off course you will ignore all this discussion and surely find yet another conspiracy (from you know where!!).

peace

**Media visit of Lal Masjid tomorrow: DG ISPR **

ISLAMABAD: The operation against militants in Lal Masjid still continued, military spokesman said on Wednesday.

Army spokesman, Major General Waheed Arshad talking to media said that three more militants were killed in the night fighting with the army.

Ten soldiers were martyred and 33 were wounded in the operation, he said.

Elaborating further he said that the first phase of the operation was focused on getting the militants cleared of the mosque complex. The second phase of the operation to clean Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa was underway.

He said a visit of media men to the mosque complex would be arranged tomorrow.

He denied any incident of suicide bombing in the country after the operation, saying that the law and order situation is under control.

**Corpse of Rasheed Ghazi flown to Rojhan Mazari **

ISLAMABAD: The corpse of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi has been flown to Rojhan Mazari.

According to details, the dead body of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi has been flown by a helicopter to Rojhan mazari. Maulana Abdul Aziz and other high officials have also left by helicopter with the corpse.

It may be recalled that Maulana Abdul Aziz was arrested by the security force before the operation and he is now on seven-day remand.

On the other hand, preparations for the funeral of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi are already being made in Rojhan Abdullah, an area of Rojhan Mazari in Balochistan.

Four graves have been prepared in Rojhan Abdullah, which is the native place of Maulana Abdul Rasheed.

Some of the relatives of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi and leaders of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (Sami-ul-Haq Group) – Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman Darkhasti and Maulana Hafeez - have already reached Rojhan Abdullah.

Besides, a large number of people are being reached from Rahimyar Khan, Sukkur and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Sources said that there is no restriction on people for attending the namaz-e-janaza of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi.

antiobl:

Noboy is propounding any kind of conspiracy theory here. Why did the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq bail out Molana Ghazi who was arrested while carrying load of weapons and ammunition in his car and that too right in the middle of the federal capital is a valid question. It's ok if you don't have any palusible answer to my question...

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

Below is a letter from the Dailytimes:

Ijaz-ul Haq’s generosity](http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2007\04\14\story_14-4-2007_pg3_7)

Sir: Federal minister for religious affairs, Ijaz-ul-Haq, has admitted that he had bailed out Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi from a criminal case registered against him due to terrorist activities in 2003-04. The Maulana was caught red-handed bringing weapons to his Jamia by the Islamabad police, for use by the jihadi outfits.

While being interviewed by a private television channel, Ijaz-ul Haq showed a written apology by the Maulana, promising not to repeat his anti-state activities in the future. Two things come to mind:

One, under which law did the federal minister order police to withdraw the case? Two, the Maulana would not have dared do what he is doing now, putting the entire nation to shame had he been adequately punished for the charges levelled against him in the past. I request the government to take cognisance of the matter and hold an enquiry against the federal minister on the charges of protecting criminals.

Don't forget to include:
6. Govt/military is also in bed with mullahs.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

  1. and opposition

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

According to Geo, the girls students deny in an interview to Geo that they were taken as hostages. According to the news, they were there on their own will.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

In that case, we should jail them as well for supporting terrorists.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

exactly..

either you were there against your will

or..

you were accomplice to crminals and terrorists ( I am not sure what other civilians need to stock up on landmines, grenades and rocket launchers)

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

sure jail them. They were surely wrong

but then stop sensationalizing it by the hostage card. The whole drama played on the feeler.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

either way the women and children had to be kept out of harms way and thats what was reported. There wasn't too much harping on the term hostage.

Re: Lal Masjid Siege Thread - Operation Silence (merged)

no hostage 'card' necessary.
the presence and usage of landmines, rocket launchers and automatic weapons says enough.

If there were no hostages, we could have prevented the loss of brave men from military by just aerial assult on teh bldg until either the roaches died or surrendered.
