lailatul mairaj...

when is lailatul mairaj in north america…??i want to know when is the ibaadat ki raat…??

Re: lailatul mairaj...

I don't want to discourage anyone in anyway, but the fact is that the Prophet salAllahualaihiwasallam did not single out the day of Mi'raj in any way. He did mention other days, like fasting on Ashura and on the day of Arafah. He also told us to look for Laylut al Qadr in the last ten odd nights of Ramadan. So it would be appropriate to just stick to the Sunnah.

Re: lailatul mairaj…

The eve of 27th Rajab is a highly blessed night
Just before midnight pray 12 rakaat namaz (2x6), in every rakaat recite any surah after suraa e Faatih’ah
After Salam recite the following verses 7 times
1) Al Faatih’ah
2) Al Ikhlaas
3) Al Falaq
4) An Naas
5) Al Kaafiroon
6) Al Qadr
7) Aayatul Kursi

Then recite the following Dua’a
Praise be to Allah who has not taken unto Himself a son, has no partner in the sovereignty, nor has He any protecting friend through dependence. And (all) magnify Him with all magnificence.

O Allah I beseech Thee in the name of the hard to understand matters concerning They power & authority, carried out from the base of Thy Arsh; (in the name of) the infinite mercy in Thy Book, “Thy Great, Greater, Greatest, Name”. “Thy High, Higher, Highest Glory”, & in the name of Thy whole, complete & perfect words, to send blessings on Muhammad & on his children
& to do for me that which is equal to Thy (all-competent) worthiness.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

i was asking about shab e mairaj.....or also called lailatul mairaj,or mairaj ul nabi....and its on the 27th day of rajab....
i am not sure when 27th rajab is....in north america....??

Re: lailatul mairaj…

if this information came from the Prophet Muhammad salAllahualaihiwasallam then i will accept it, otherwise i will reject it
so where did this information come from?

by the way to look up the islamic calendar dates, you can find the islamic calendar on different websites
here’s one www.islamicfinder.org

Re: lailatul mairaj…

His information came from this website:

http://www.duas.org/miraj.htm

Its a shia website, does not mention any hadith source about performing dua/prayer like that. Go figure.

Smma59, do post your link/source of your information next time. Even if its your *own *freaking website.

Others,

This website seems like a good place to start if you have questions, etc.

Re: lailatul mairaj…

Is it prohibited to recite..
**1) **Al Faatih’ah](http://www.imamhusain.com/duas/mp3/HAMD.MP3)

**2) **Al Ikhlaas](http://www.imamhusain.com/duas/mp3/35.MP3)
3) Al Falaq
4) An Naas
5) Al Kaafiroon
6) Al Qadr

on 27th rajab? if not what you ask about traditions? My dear we muslim can recite any day quran and if it is date like lailatul miraj recite this to remember that day.

wassalam

Re: lailatul mairaj…

So recite it on any day you want. But to single out the 27th of Rajab thinking that it is something specia,l when the Prophet himself didn’t think of it that way, is wrong. I follow Allah and His Messenger, and I stay away from the additions and subtractions made to Islam by men.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

Oh you follow Holy messenger of Allah but refuse to recite these verses on 27th rajab because you do not know what is written in these verses?

Learn more before refusing?
On Laylat al Miraj, Muslims go to the mosque, read from the Qur'an and discuss the story. In many Muslim countries it is a national holiday.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

Before we can discuss, that should we celebrate this solemn occasion or not. Please do answer my following points.

1)Did Meraj, occur in Makkah or Medina and which Hijri was this.

2) Did, the Prophet recommend us to mark out this particular day.

3)Did the sahaba karam, mark this day out as a one off occassion.

With all the 3 questions above, you can only get an answer from the Ahaddeeth or Prophetic tradition. With all due respect, please explain to me, with Authentic.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

Br wasim plz read my other mail on this topic also to understand history and importance of lailatul miraj. and recite quran on that day and reciting quran need no hadith or traditional ref...
your some answer is written in following verses..

**"Glorified be He who carried His servant at night from Masjid al Haram to Masjid al‑Aqsa, the precincts of which We have blessed so that We may show him of Our Signs. Verily He is the All Hearing, the All‑Seeing. *Surah al‑Isra (Sarah 17 ‑ also known as Bani Isra`il),*

*"Will you then argue with him about what he saw? He certainly saw him (Jibra'il) during his other ascent to the Lote‑tree (in the seven heavens) near which is **Paradise. When the tree was covered with a covering, (Muhammad's) eyes did not deceive him, nor did they lead him to falsehood. He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of *the existence of his Lord. *Surah al‑Najm, Verses 12 to 18*

celebrate that day as it is important day in islamic history. After reading all details you will sure realise its importance.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

Chips, it is on monday Aug 21st.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

All I am saying is, if the Prophet did these things specifically then I will do it. If he held 27th Rajab to be blessed in some way, then I will do the same. But if I he didn't then I won't do that either.
I know about the significance of the days of Hajj, and Ashoora, and Laylatul Qadr but I've never heard about the significance of the day of Miraj. Where did the Prophet talk about the increasing worship on the day of Miraj???

Re: lailatul mairaj...

so you think our holy prophet(s.a.w) restricted to recite quran on that day?

why we celebrate any occasion? when we celebrate 14 aug azadai day we never ask traditions but when some one say celebrate day of miraj the happiest day in islamic history people ask traditions... A big joke.....

wassalam

Re: lailatul mairaj...

There is no evidence from sunnah of the prophet or his sahaba that any such celebration took place or some particular verses from the quran were specifically recited for such occassion and some gathering took place to celebrate such event... so who are you to tell us to celebrate? On whos command do you tell us to do a form of worship that prophet or his sahaba never authorized?

Re: lailatul mairaj...

I said if the Prophet himself held laylatul Miraj to be of any significance then I will do the same, but if he didn't then I won't do so either. Because he was better than me, and if he didn't do anything like this then I will not do it either.

Who said that I celebrated the 14th of august?
I only celebrate the three days of eid, Eid ul Adha (yearly), Eid ul Fitr (yearly) and Jumu'a (Weekly). That's it.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

then go to miraj instead of discussin it.. Br . recite quran and discuss miraj incidence and these act do not require any tradition.. because reciting quran and discussing miraj incident is a sunna of our holy prophet(s,a.w)

wassalam

Re: lailatul mairaj...

smma59, bhai, I asked you the question regarding when did Prophet ascend to the heaven right,
Makkah or Medina you answered Makkah Alhamdullillaah.
Btw, the purpose for this question of mine was, this happened in Makkah, and 1 year or so before the hijri.
So our beloved Prophet, was alive thats for 10 more then 10 after hijri.
Our Prophet has taught us all good deeds and forbidden the bad deeds, to reach our final destination of Jannah, you agree or not.
If this day was such an important day, dont you think Prophet Mohammed salaAllaahwaliuwasalam, would have pointed out this one-off day, to Pray, remember and supplicate to Allaah.
Since this is not proven, from any particular Hadeeth, we only say this was not a Prophetic tradition and its just an innovation.

Re: lailatul mairaj...

thanks lusi....this was all i had asked for.....
i really appreciate it.....

Re: lailatul mairaj...

the way any muslim follows the religion is his or her own decision.....

if someone wants to pray or recite or say nafal on this day of the year when mairaj happened.....there is nothing wrong about it......he wont have "gunnah" or go to hell for this......

may allah(swt) show us all the right path....ameen.....
