Re: Lahore bazaar

thx guys

Re: Lahore bazaar

shahalam market or shalmi is taken as another name for rang mahal.actually rang mahal is one of the markets in shalmi.shalmi is the biggest whole sale market of punjab.a tempting place for shopping which tests your temperament a lot :D since you have to bear with men brushing against you 1000 times as the bazaar ki galiyan are sooo narrow and dark.people mostly shop for jahaiz crockery, bedsheets, fabric, etc there.

yor are right:D

So what should I get?? Im not really on a budget or anything ..
And what are the prices these days for clothes, shoes, bangles and other stuff?
Whats in? (pics ..)
Im staying in Lahore .. will be there for a month :D so help me out here .. pretty plz!

God bless you woman. :D

Re: Shopping for Jahez

Congrats Leha!! this must be a very exciting time for you..and overwhelming at the same time....
first and foremost....focus on the basics and the classics depending on your personal style...
go out..try on colors and different styles of outfits....always have a vision before you set out to spend the money....
you can never go wrong with sarees, churidars, ghararas/shararas, shalwar kameezes/straight pajamas.
i wouldnt recommend getting shoes from pak....but do focus on clothes and jewellery....
also...simple outfits that you can wear around the house....maybe a good investment..if you plan on wearing them..otherwise..just get some nice formals...depending on how social you will get after the wedding....
stoles, bangles...clutches...and maybe a variety of kundan earrings which are very much in right now....plus they look great with heavy outfits...without making you look too done up...

wow thanks Chanda :D :D

Sarees ... do pakistanis wear them? I thought it was more of an indian thing .. lol sorry but i dont really know much abt these things... its all very new to me ..

Re: Shopping for Jahez

Pakistani women do wear saris, maybe the average Indian woman wears them more often but Pakistanis wear them too. Regarding shoes you may want to get a few as they are uusally more ethnic looking to go with the eastern clothes than ones here. Bangles, the ones that are in are called "crystal bangles" (decorated with extra glass on them hence the term crystal). More than chooridars capris are in with long shirts or trousers both teh widepants and regular staright pants. I persoanlly stay away from shalwars for formal wear but many women wear them, if you like them go for it.

Re: Shopping for Jahez

but don't be too trendy especially with formals b/c i'm assuming you won't be going to pak for a long time after this trip and then u'll feel weird when the trends totally change again. get knee length shirts and buy things u think are beautiful regardless of fashion...which should be eas for u cuz u said u don't know the fashion which is a good thing here :)

Re: Shopping for Jahez

beyond clothes and jewellery, think about your future home too.
there are some amazing artists in pakistan- it might be worthwhile to check out some art galleries and exhibitions- you might just pick up some beautiful pieces that would only increase in value with time. also they have gorgeous furniture, rugs, and tapestries, so if you're up for shipping pieces out, go for it!

wow thanks guys :D

didnt even think abt my future home!! Im into art so maybe i'll check some stuff out .. :)

I love sarees, I have some and I'll defo buy some more now that I know pakistanis wear them too :P
Awesome thanks
