also are there other pics like a full front view?
Re: Lengha
Here is some info about shopping in Lahore:
Bano and Baba Bazaar in Anarkali
Auriga in Gulberg
Libas-e-khas, Saleem Fabrics, Think Pink in Liberty. Cavalary’s al-Fajar has good fabric. Think Pink has great reviews and you have to really haggle there. Keep a margin like Rs 50,000 or less even if the salesperson says Rs 80, 000 or above for any of the lehngas. For the formals I think Rs 10,000 or less even if the price is Rs 20,000 plus.
For kaam wala suits/formals do try Basement at Liberty. A kaam wala, Master Jee comes highly recomended. He has many designer copies and is relatively cheaper than brand names.
Missoni and Collections at Fortress
Rang Mahal, Ichra, Moon Market,
Zardozi, Ali’s Bridal Gallery, Ali Zari house have ready made unstitched lehngas. They also have good reviews.
Defence Y block has all the cool designer shops. Kuki Concepts, Karma, Sarah Salman, Hajra Hyat, HSY, Maria B and Lajawanti. Do visit to keep designs in mind and find the ones you like in cheaper places. Please, please, if you can take pics and share.
Maria B is the designer who is getting GS praise nowadays for being friendly and prefessional.

Babar Plaza behind khussa mahal in Liberty is a great place for artificial jewelery. Choice jewellers has great stuff.
For groom’s stuff, go to Haroon House opp. Panorama Centre. Take a fabric swatch/pic of the lehnga you choose to match his outfit, too.

Going to Pak for wedding shopping in Lahore ...please help with outfits/designers
Hi All,
I'm going to Pakistan in January for my wedding shopping...I have't been to Pakistan for over 10 years so am completely in the dark about where to go and who to go an see...I'm going to get both my wedding and walima outfit and all my jahez.
Can anyone help with what designers are good, price ranges, their whereabouts and contact details? I know of the main ones...HSY, Maria B etc, but Im'm sure there's less famous ones I haven't heard about sitting in London.
I've also heard there are loads of boutiques/designers who have set up from home (in the Defence area mainly) and are also able to make imitation designer pieces for very reasonable prices..? Anyone have any names or numbers for any of these...?
Finally...is there any specific bridal fashion at the moment...with regards to colours, styles etc??
Any help/advice will be great!
Thanks guys x
Nida
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
Can you please specify the city?
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
Hey. Congrats!
Few questions for you..
1) What's the range you have for both your bridal dresses?
2) Are you looking for traditional stuff or contemporary?
3) What kind of clothes you would like for your jahez? like all heavy dresses or casual/party wear too?
.......................:-)
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
oops that would help wouldn't it! I'm going to Lahore.
Maham...
1) £1000-£1500 each for outfits.
2) I'd prefer a contemporary look to be honest...I dont like gold jewellery much so I'm going to avoid the shiney gold and go for something in either white gold, or dull but a contemporary design..
3) Probably a mixture of clothes...some heavy ones to wear right after the wedding, and 10-15 party wear. So I'm guessing I need a few designers to get some variety???
Thanks girls!
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
i knw what u mean but if u go to any famous desginer no one does that tacky shiney gold thats soo old school... if u want good heavy clothes for party wear go to :
1) hsy - each outfit will be like 50,000 +
2) theres a designer in defence Y block his name is Aleem, excellent stuff for 30,000 to 50,000
3) nilofer shahid - shes amazing
4) saadia mirza u will like her shes very contemporary
for bridal: go to HSY his bridals r like 3 lak starting
karma has good stuff to starting at also 3 lak
maria B is decent but her bridals r 1.5 lak
go to this shop called Q10 got all the designers under one roof n ready made clothes...

Thanks Poddy!
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
Do you know any other desighers in Defence? That's where I'll be staying so it will be good to have a few more contacts there if anyone has names/numbers/addresses of designers there!
Much appreciated xx
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
NZaf, I have started a thread for a designer friend of mine, do check her out and say Huma from London recommended you! Her name is Fizza Affan and she is based in EME, check the thread for her contact number
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
Thanks Hubnubs..i'll be sure to check her out!
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
there is a store in lahore called laal chunariya.....my khala's inlaws own it...they have amazing bridal wear....if i can get more details abt address and number ill pass it on....
also its not necessary you go to HSY, mariab, karma etc etc....there are many other stores where you can find formal wear, that not everyone will be seen wearing....cos alot of ppl buy the same stuff from designers....and do check out the cloth market, they have amazing loose material that can turn into a stunning outfit that wont break ur bank....
alot of ppl are over priced and when they see ur from abroad all they want is ur money so make sure ur getting good bargins :)

I agree.. designers may be good but they are a total rip off.. If you are going to pindi, then Mohsin sons and fashion ka ghar are two places to visit for bridal outfit. I got a dress made form FKG, it was just too pretty.
You can get nice, stunning party wears from Chinyere.. They are not over priced and their dresses are amazing.
Re: Going to Pak for wedding shopping...please help with outfits/designers
^^ OMG i loveeeee chinyere....i really wana go to pak for shopping :(
regardless of wot i said abt designers being rip offs....i just remembered maria.b is resonably priced for formal wear!
1) OK that would be around a 1.3-1.9 lakhs, rite? Hmm thats not enough. You need atleast 2 lakhs to start with a normal designer lengha. A reasonable budget would be 2. Its unfortunate but yah if you want something nice keep it 2.
You like contemporary stuff so the designers you should check out are nomi ansari esp if you like the play with colors. And he's based in karachi so yah i guess it wont suit you also heard he has a major attitude problem. Hmm whoelse? Well i love Nilofer shahid and though she is mostly doing traditional but she blends it so well with the contemporary style that it always looks fab. I just adore her work but she is very expensive otherwise i would recommend you to check her work. But her bridals range from 4-7 and thats too much. You can try Zara Shahjehan, i really liked her ivory bridal which she also wore on her own wedding and it was for 4 but i think you can check her other stuff too and maybe you will like something in your range.
There is HSY but his work is more traditional however few of his pieces are nicely blended with contemporary styles so ya do check out his work. Then there is karma and their prices are good compared to other designers but i think their work is just nice nothing very creative but just something you can say is nice. I would personally not go for karma cuz i find they have same old motifs repeated in every damn outfit but then if you want to stay in your budget you can give them a try and maye you will find something unique. Like we odered my bhabhi's bridal from there and we really had to find something different and i designed her shirt myself :P lol so you can imagine :D.
2) Thats nice. I prefer contemporary over traditional anytime.
3) Yup. Thats how it should be. For not very heavy ones you can try chynere ( bareeze), sarah salman, maria b, karma pink, and the best spot pfdc where you will get the major designers under one roof with their ready to wear collection. And for some heavy jodas you can always oder from the same place you oder your bridal from as it will be cheaper in the package.

I went looking for the thread and couldn't find it, could you please post it or guide me to where it is located? My moms going to Lahore in a few weeks too and love to know about designers in this area as well! Also, do you know of any people who can make reallllllly good copies?
