You need to take into account factors like kind of atmosphere, crowd, past history for comparing both rallies. Number of people is not the only criteria for success.

IK’s rally was in lahore which was always considered to be NS’s stronghold. Imran held the rally at Minar e Pakistan which has seldom been filled to its full capacity and he took a huge risk filling it.

Crowd at IK’s rally consisted of educated class who came with families and who chanted all along. The kind of fervor shown there has been unheard of in political rallies. They came out of their own accord. NOT because of fear of their lives or they were paid to.

Altaf’s rally was big but MQM always had a strong base in karachi. I hope IK is allowed to hold a rally in karachi as well and that will be another measure of PTI’s base in other provinces.
So before comparing two rallies, take more factors into account.
