^This is the attitude we all should have aishi. I know many women in their early 20s wishing for person with white collar job only. There is nothing wrong with this wish but when reality of life comes hard then a decent man with blue collar job who keeps his woman happy is sufficient enough. Life is not wat it used to be like. Men or women we all need to work hard but wat matters is his upbringing, manners and right character. Where the guy works, how much he earns has become so materialized because of status symbol in our desi mindset. While it is important to do best it is also important to keep in mind that if the guy is honest and caring this will go long way.
A lot of men get their pride by being able to have a good job and provide for their families. If he’s blue collar and she’s a homemaker, it’s one thing, but if she’s a doctor and he’s a handyman, much different situation. Its hard for women to be with someone who will constantly feel inadequate with his job compared to hers, it really creates issues in the marriage. I think if the guy’s education level is the same or above the girl’s, easier to be compatible.
Getting a formal education i.e. school/college/university somehow makes someone a better person. Meanwhile a cabbie who is honest, sincere, hard working and loving is not marriage material. No wonder you women have to wait till after 45 to find your prince charming.
If he has all the other qualities you mentioned, I would but granted that it's not a long-term career choice and he's willing to continue his education (if he's not done with his school yet) or be willing to look for a job elsewhere.
person......who is nice, honest, decent, nice in all respects...........except that he is a blue collar worker .......something like taxi driver, plumber or soemthing........
Hmmmm, most probably, I wouldn't consider marrying someone like that.
One of the most valuable life lessons that porn has taught us is, no profession is inferior or menial. Being a plumber or a cable guy does come with certain perks, and lady luck shines on you when you least expect it. Esp if you are chiseled and endowed, and fixing cables/plumbing at a Long Beach mansion. You know, whatever, but the point is you shouldn't lose hope.

Whenever there is a discussion about education, I often notice that quite some people here have a very distorted view about it.
A few things from this thread alone:
Being educated does not only refer to people who atleast have done PHD or have a master degree. There are levels of education.
If one did not go to university, it does not mean that he/she is stupid and knows rack about the world.
If somebody finishes high school and then follows a study/course to become a mechanic, then he is educated too.
Plumbers are not born as plumbers.
Not everybody in this world has an ambition to persue an academic study, yes the shock and the horror and the shivers.
This world has 7 billion people, and not all of them want to become doctors and lawyers. We need people who can fix cars/sinks, busdrivers, cabdrivers, porters etc as well.
Being a cabdriver does not mean that one did not finish his school and didnt have a degree.
Some people enjoy their work as it is and don't want to do anything else.
I saw quite some ladies here saying that the life style difference would be too big. I can understand that if you are living in Pakistan or/and are filthy rich.
But if you are living in a western country (and you are not filthy rich) then this argument doesnt make any sense.
Plumbers, busdrivers earn a decent amount of money in the West. Unless your dad is Bill Gates, then you should not have any problem adjusting and there wont be much of a lifestyle difference.
I am saying this from a western point of view (if you are living in the West).
At the end of the day, it all comes down on preferences, because you should marry who suits you and whom there is a click with.

This man explained it soooo well. Majority of Pakistanis living in the West has this illusion that they want all round good guy. Most of the time because dads are adamant about marrying their daughter to doctor, Engineer, or lawyer. As if nothing else exist in this world. I know so many girls in our family friend who are in their late 20s and still looking for 'perfect guy' to come to their door. And the girls i know i am talking about one time or other had very good rishtae knocking at their door. They refused a guy because he has only bachelor degree. Or don't have job which pays 50k. Like seriously?.

i totally agree on the education part. well said
not everyone has high ambitions to complete phD's and become lawyers or doctors, but that doesn't justify that one's less educated and/or dumb.
for e.g: I'd be satisfied with the average.
