Whenever there is a discussion about education, I often notice that quite some people here have a very distorted view about it. A few things from this thread alone: 1. Being educated does not only refer to people who atleast have done PHD or have a master degree. There are levels of education. If one did not go to university, it does not mean that he/she is stupid and knows rack about the world. If somebody finishes high school and then follows a study/course to become a mechanic, then he is educated too. Plumbers are not born as plumbers. 2. Not everybody in this world has an ambition to persue an academic study, yes the shock and the horror and the shivers. This world has 7 billion people, and not all of them want to become doctors and lawyers. We need people who can fix cars/sinks, busdrivers, cabdrivers, porters etc as well. Being a cabdriver does not mean that one did not finish his school and didnt have a degree. Some people enjoy their work as it is and don’t want to do anything else. 4. I saw quite some ladies here saying that the life style difference would be too big. I can understand that if you are living in Pakistan or/and are filthy rich. But if you are living in a western country (and you are not filthy rich) then this argument doesnt make any sense. Plumbers, busdrivers earn a decent amount of money in the West. Unless your dad is Bill Gates, then you should not have any problem adjusting and there wont be much of a lifestyle difference. I am saying this from a western point of view (if you are living in the West). At the end of the day, it all comes down on preferences, because you should marry who suits you and whom there is a click with. But all these excuses!

This man explained it soooo well. Majority of Pakistanis living in the West has this illusion that they want all round good guy. Most of the time because dads are adamant about marrying their daughter to doctor, Engineer, or lawyer. As if nothing else exist in this world. I know so many girls in our family friend who are in their late 20s and still looking for ‘perfect guy’ to come to their door. And the girls i know i am talking about one time or other had very good rishtae knocking at their door. They refused a guy because he has only bachelor degree. Or don’t have job which pays 50k. Like seriously?.
