isn’t it true that everyone will be called with the name of their father on the day of judgement? if husband’s name was of any importance then why wouldn’t that happen? I believe it’s more of the lineage than just “attributing to oneself to someone” if adopted children are required to keep the name of their father then it only makes sense that a woman should keep her father’s name as well.

Everyone will be called by their mother’s name, not father’s.
