Ladies, did you learn to cook from your MIL

My hubby is Punjabi and me Kashmiri, many dishes were different in the way we cook them.

He actually loves my dishes but we did have some clashes, where "we dont make it like that" "thats not the way i like it" "maa makes it better"

Anyway i have learnt some from MIL who loves cooking and loves to share her recipes aswell, but all the same they have also learnt from me.

1 classic i can remember is Gobi Gosht, we make it in such a way that the gobi florets have to remain intact, whereas they make it to resemle haleem, its all so mashed, same with daal Gosht, our daals have to be cooked but whole, whereas they are again...mashed (easy for me)
