ive been married 6 months and ive only learned about 3 dishes from my MIL. im pakistani and they are hydro indian so the food is veryyyy different! my husband doesnt ask me to learn anything except her amazing hydro biryani...which im terrified of difficult rice dishes! i wouldnt be hurt if he asked me to learn her cooking, only if he commented that i cant cook it as well (which i doubt any guy would be that dumb to say to their wife!)
my husband loves my cooking, especially since its a novel taste experience for him...and he has always raved about my food even though im a beginner. i suspect he will still rave about a dish i have flopped as well since he is really nice about my effort to cook.
