As far as the average Indian muslim is concerned, just to let you know that I am a muslim from India, and just over Eid this weekend, we've been at several gatherings where other Indian muslims were breaking bread with Pakistani muslims, and this topic came up (of freedom for muslims in India). Other than propaganda you see via the media, and perhaps some isolated events, none of the families we met feel opressed or feel the need to move out of India for any reason
I think given that the population of Muslims in India is so massive, what you may describe as isolated incidents can, in themselves, be seen as huge events; the demolition of the Babri Masjid for example (still no culprits punished); the Gujrat massacre. Not to mention Kashmir, which is a whole new can of worms. Given India's Muslim population is at about 13-14%, Muslim representation in politics, government, military, business and education is nowhere near representative; it shows that there's institutional discrimination against Muslims (and frankly, other minorities) in India.
I won't be so naive to conclude that every Indian Muslim feels the same way; most I've been exposed to felt perfectly fine as Indian citizens, and all the power to them. But, I've also met just about enough to conclude that the picture isn't as rosy as many would like to present. One particular case always comes to mind; the son of one of our family friends, who are Indian Muslims, was saying to me a couple of years ago, and I quote: "India main Musalmanon ka koi haal hi nahi." Mentioned things about Muslims only being able to flourish if they 'secularised/Hinduised', changed their names etc, that sort of thing.
Oh God! Here they go again.........Pls leave Salman alone! Looking at him only makes me wonder how,and if at all, the Muslims of India get any freedom of speech and expression. If this is what they do to SALMAN KHAN for speaking his mind then i wonder what happens to the rest. What he said was not at all offensive, infact he was only talking in right of other unpriviledged indians who go through worse in their dialy life. Why must you twist anything and everything the poor guy says? Just because he's a Muslim?! Not Fair At All! Pls have some shame, he has done his country proud worldwide and this is what he gets in the end. Howcome the same is never done to a hindu star? Really very disappointing. Hope my Indians friends will understand where this is coming from and no offence to them because i do believe the gov't and ****'d up people like shiv sena are the real culprits here. Salman's haters can shove that hatred up their ugly faces or asses, same difference.

India is one large concentration camp for minorities. 1984 sikh massacre where hindus attempted to alter the DNA of sikhs by rape,gujjarat Muslim Genocide,Kashmir Massacre that has escalated to a point of no control,Ethnic cleansing of Maoists. Butchering Bengalis and other minorities of Nagaland,Deporting Tamils to Srilanka are just few of those attrocities that distinguishes India from other free states.
