Labour Day Weekend.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

there was a $15 penalty for driving all those naseebi girls away!

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

which ones, the 12 year olds who wont go away, or that one character who would not go away until she got a free cd. Bhai I did you a favour by driving them away.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Mehnaz, Ambala in Chicago is just not the same as Ambala in London. its still good though. same goes for Kababish.

and FG, we all ignore your PMs and PMS.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

I was going to ask you for a free CD but then held myself back.

You should have come during the show. I'm sure ur conversation skills would have been more entertaining than that Annie lady singing :D

I wish I could have played pithoo garam too :(

Oh and kebabish food at ISNA SUCKED. Bleahhh.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Can i still entry maar in this thread??

It was awesome to meet Femme, Mehnaz and hmcq. My plans to meet Femme at Devon didnt pan out though :( Femme I am sorry for that, will PM you with details.

If i had known Spock and Fraudia were going to be there too, I would have let you guys know i was working at the CAIR booth on Friday. Thats ok though, next time InshaAllah.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

I dont want to hear of any stories of people having fun...all I did this weekend was labor...(Honey do List)

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

That should be fun for you too KAleem, especially after all those years of training and perfection.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

:hehe: sounds like you guys had a similar experience as mine.
We did the lecture thing on Saturday Femme and went sightseeing on Sunday :k: We mainly wanted to catch Hamza Yusuf’s Sat. night lecture which thankfully we were able to attend. You are right there is SO MUCH going on that it makes your head spin as to where to go and what to do!!
We covered Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and the Sears tower (or was it the john hancock). Couldn’t get to Devon or the museum.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

FF dont get me started or I will have to change my response to one of the questions in ADGSK....my list was like this:
1. Power wash the patio furniture
2. Power wash the patio
3. Power wash the drive way and the sidewalks
4. Assemble and attach the glider set for the Rainbow system (for the girls)
5. Get the oil changed for both cars
6. Wash my truck
7. Put up curtains for the girls bedroom
and if these things were not enough she managed to arrange couple of outings to Chuckee cheese and Children's museum...oh and not to mention setting up the water slide for the girls and ten other kids in the neighborhood and then clean up afterwards......arghhhhh

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Interested in a part-time job?

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

same here dude! I have to finish my sightseeing and eat the famous pizza that everyone keeps talking about!! Thankfully the husband is a big fan of Chicago since he has spent some time there so I’m sure we’ll be making our way down there some time in the future! love the lake!!!

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

FF, does it involve travel so I can be away from very energetic, chatty girls for a while. :)

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

RB, how was the lecture.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Remember she was going around telling people “There is this hot stud selling CDs on that table”, I think she was referring to you

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Rukhs, when you were there, did you go to any of the night events? I went on Saturday night to what was supposed to be “Hydro Fest” even though I’m not hyderabadi. I felt so embarrased once I got there cause I told Femme to join us … I’m so glad she did not come. It really was hijabis gone wild. I was there for about 15 minutes, at which point I said I was leaving, but then we had to wait outside for a while to make sure the girl who wanted to stay had a ride back cause we could not just leave her there on her own. The only reason we went is cause someone from our group invited us to go and he’s the type of person who prays regularly and really comes across as a proper Muslim. He’s the one who organized this event and we were so shocked. :hehe:

Then on Sunday night after the Naseeb party, everybody congregated at the Hyatt hotel, but I didn’t go cause I was sleepy.

My goodness, the whole weekend was overwhelming. :mudhosh:

Yeah Femme, the Kababish food is definitely not the same Kababish in England, although it claims to be. Absolutely terrible khana … and $2.50 for a glass of pop.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Femme- let me make it up to you for my lack of mehman nawazi by sending you a cd. pm me your mailing address, I will personally buy a cd and send it to you. howzat?

Spock- she would have said anything to get free cds remember her just crashing on the floor in front of the table and not moving.

Mehnaz- the kababish guy claims to be part of the same group in UK, Next time I am in London I will have to ask those ppl. the food usually is not terrible but it
just looked wrong at the event and I did not bother to eat it

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Awwww bless, nice to know you lasses had fun! As soon as the picture upload works, you can send me pictures too.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

Anyways, here is a rather interesting moment from this weekend. After the event at crowne plaza, we went to hyatt to meet up with the rest of the herd and venture out. We saw a fight break out in the middle of the street between 2 rival groups, belts, golf clubs, chains and what nots were being displayed.

The fight moved from the left side of the road to the middle, predicting that it will go to the right, i decided to cut left and walk by the fight. Somehow one of the punsk thought I was with the other gang, and threw a full soda can at my head. the funny thing is I was paying no attention towards the side and the peripheral vision saved me because I saw a metallic object headed for my head at a rather alarming rate and instinctively moved out of the way, the can whizzed by where my head was just a second before and crashed on the pavement.

later we saw some guy with blood gushing from his forehead and then the cops and ambulances came.

such a good weekend and such a fine show put on by ISNA, only to be ruined by idiots like these punks.

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

haha! your story reminds me of all the characters I saw at ISNA. it is one of those experiences that you will never forget and never want to re-live
We went to something organized by ISNA which was for entertainment for the young crowd. They had musicians, and wanna-be singers, rappers, and comedians. That’s where my friend fell in love w/ Dawud Warnsby haha!
The characters hanging out at the hotel were so interesting that we didn’t have to go any of the parties to entertain ourselves. Hijabis gone wild so sounds like one of those 1 a.m. parties at ISNA haha

Re: Labour Day Weekend.

ah we love Hamza Yusuf so what can I say  He had just returned from talks regarding the Guantanamo bay detainees and it was right before the presidential elections so you can guess what he talked about.
