Laanat, Curse !

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Sahih Muslim

Book 31, Number 5915:
This hadith has been narrated.on the authority of Shu’ba with the same chain of transmitters. Amir b. Sa’d b. Abi Waqqas reported on the authority of his father that Muawiya b. Abi Sufyin appointed Sa’d as the Governor and said: What prevents you from abusing Abu Turab (Hadrat 'Ali), whereupon be said : It is because of three things which I remember Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said about him that I would not abuse him and even if I find one of those three things for me, it would be more dear to me than the red camelg. I heard Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) say about 'Ali as he left behind hrin in one of his campaigns (that was Tabuk). 'All said to him: Allah’s Messenger, you leave me behind along with women and children. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to him: Aren’t you satisfied with being unto me what Aaron was unto Moses but with this exception that there is no prophethood after me. And I (also) heard him say on the Day of Khaibar: I would certainly give this standard to a person who loves Allah and his Messenger and Allah and his Messenger love him too. He (the narrator) said: We have been anxiously waiting for it, when he (the Holy Prophet) said: Call 'Ali. He was called and his eyes were inflamed. He applied saliva to his eyes and handed over the standard to him, and Allah gave him victory.

(The third occasion is this) when the (following) verse was revealed: “Let us summon our children and your children.” Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) called 'Ali, Fitima, Hasan and Husain and said: O Allah, they are my family.

At the time when this verse was revealed Prophet PBUH had his own son alive and he was married too but as the challenge said bring your sons and women he chose to bring only these four great personalities. Christians understood but unfortunately muslims are still having problem understanding why he did not bring his wives with him.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

This cursing business is very complicated and tricky. People curse whom they feel comfortable cursing depending upon their understanding of the "perspective" they have grown up learning and the angle that has been inculcated in their innocent minds by their respective scholars.

I am not sure if it is true or not, but I have heard that there are some people **who curse Hazrat Abu-Bakr (r.a), Hazrat Umar (r.a), Hazrat Ayesha (r.a)....etc. and then there are* those people*** who curse those **some people **for cursing the above mentioned companions of the Prophet (saw).

Within the fan club of Hazrat ALI (k.w) there are different people having different opinions about him, and those having one opinion curse the other group for their different views and vice versa. Most of them support the cursing they have grown up listening to from their family and close relatives.

Allah (swt) knows best whom to curse and whom not to. Still, there would always be people in different times who would twist Quranic verses and Hadiths to support their own perspective. Some would even use Quran and Hadith to prove that Imam Mehdi has already arrived, others would have other totally different versions, but all of them referring to the same Quran, looking it from their own angle, that they are comfortable with.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

^welcome to the Muslim world 2012. One that is on collision course with most of the basic principles of Islam.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Well said. IMO, our history is not as clear to guarantee that a particular person had behaved /acted in a way which allow people to curse him / her. An authentic source for one sect is mere fabrication for the other. Only Allah knows what is true and whats not. In case, you curse a person for an act, which he/she had not done, then you will be accountable to Allah on day of judgement.

At the end, act of cursing will not make my meezan full of good deeds, which a person will require most on the day of judgement.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

In the Quran, Allah (swt) curse the liars. I have seen most people using this verse against the other sect, proving the other sect a liar, as if they exactly know better than the other sect whom Allah (swt) is calling a Liar. The list of logics of those parties are unlimited.

It is very clear from history that the Prophet (saw), Imam Hassan (r.a) and Imam Hussain (r.a) cried their heart out every night for the guidance of their worst enemies who gave their relatives pain (How many of us follow this sunnah ?), and on very few rare occasions cursed those who gave them pain. One occasion was when sons of Abu-Lahab divorced his daughters in front of people. Because their hearts were filled MORE with love for each and every single person on earth no matter how much physical and mental pain those people gave them.

Once a man told his story that he never prayed throughout his life till he reached 30's after which he liked the other sect and after shifting to that sect, he started praying 5 times a day. His uncle, a staunch follower of his previous sect started cursing him for changing his sect, to which that man replied. "When for 30 years I didn't pray at all and was making hell compulsory for myself, you never even once told me that praying is must for a Muslim, but once I shifted to the other sect, you realized your prejudice against the other sect as your greatest duty in Islam."

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Having a strong desire to curse the enemies of our beloved and ideal ones is natural for everyone of us, and there is nothing wrong in it, but it should not overwhelm the speciality of this ummah, for which this ummah was sent and for which it is called the best ummah. Becuase it continues the job of prophets, to encourage good, discourage bad, with wisdom, sacrifice and love. That would bring people closer, hatred (cursing) would make people of other sects run away from us.

Out of 99 "sifaati" (qualities) of Allah (swt) and the 99 names of the Prophet (saw), no name has a meaning "Curser of the mushrikeen/munafiqeen/kaafireen". Hence it is better for you to pray for guidance of sinners like me, from "RAHMAAN" and "RAHIM", following the steps of "RAHMAT-UL-LIL-AALAMEEN".

Re: Laanat, Curse !

astagfirullah

imo, if i said what is being said above i would be required to say my kalima again.
wonderful chique liberalism, theres nothing as poisonous to the bayat of men to islam as seeing fellow tribesmen (pakistanis) following a clear anti islamic warpath. somehow we must find a way to excuse

the cursers of the sahaba, can say 52 prayers a day and they will still be outside the fold of islam. will Allah SWT have some mercy on them? i dont know about all of them, but certainly most of them will not be forgiven neither will they be allowed intercession.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

look forward to seeing this unclear history, which might enable sahaba to be cursed

i'll put it you that you trying to bridge because the rawafid are in your life

btw you dont have be born into the rawafid to be one

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Just wanted to know whther those Sahaba are within the amibit of the above fatwa who themsevles cursed other sahaba?

Re: Laanat, Curse !

bring what youve got here

Re: Laanat, Curse !

[5:91] Satan's plan is to excite enmity and hatred between you,....

Re: Laanat, Curse !

shia nishana is to put out the light of QURAN WA SUNNAH. not same is personal disagreements but we'll see what batil says

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Honestly, you guys are getting boring in the repetitive nature of your back-and-forth. Neither will accept the other's provided hadith and support for their respective position on this or any other fiqh related matter, so why bother even having this debate?

Debates are productive between those people who actually consider what the other has to say and who approach a matter with an open mind. None of you does that, instead your debate/conversations always devolve into insulting each other. And this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME and BOTH SIDES are equally guilty.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

exactly............

Re: Laanat, Curse !

the biggest treachery, imo, of our times is to say these arguements are never ending so both must have a point. this situation is perfectly accepable to shia but i am almost willing to curse (the big curse) sunnis who encourage it

Re: Laanat, Curse !

I don't get what you want to say. Please explain.

Seems You skipped last line of my message. let me clear it in simple words:

I never supported cursing anyone because that is not the thing on the basis of which my fate will be decided on day of judgement. I just pointed out in case cursing show someone's love for the victim (mazloom), then you don't know what exactly happened in past history (due to contradictory statements by different historians) and that cursing will be like a buhtaan on the person being cursed.

Re: Laanat, Curse !

salam , brother please accept my sincere public apology for the over-reaction

i have zealot dislike for statements/views which might eventually lead to acceptence of the shia as an islamic viewpoint

Re: Laanat, Curse !

^public accepts ur apology.....and a very loud, public lanat specially and only on the fat bellied king of Syria who started the act of public lanat and swearing.......

Re: Laanat, Curse !

as usual batil posts when i have to go

will leave an INFALLIBLE statement

**BY ALLAH

**by whom by ALLAH

*Muawiya RA is better for me
*

better for whom? for me

**then these people that claim to be my shia

**then whom? these people that claim to be my shia

Re: Laanat, Curse !

Its alright. No hard feelings.
