LA

We are planning a trip to Disney Land.. will be there for 2-3 days, Disney land is must.. any other recommendations? places to eat?

We will be renting a car so going form one place to another place will nto be a hassle but don’t want to spend too much time driving..can we do Disnely land in one day? If yes, what else is there?

Re: LA

Universal studios?

Is Disneyland only good for kids? Are there things to do for a couple?

Re: LA

I have never been to Disney land so dunno but my husband and I have been to Disney World in Orlando and loved it.. we do enjoy kids stuff so I am sure we will enjoy Disney land... Universal studios is on the list as well.. what else can be done?

Re: LA

Take ferry to Catalina Island, from Newport beach, long beach or San Pedro. There is stuff to do and see on the island. It's about an hour away from the port

Re: LA

Do visit Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Broadwalk, and from there go to Sunset Blvd driving through Rodeo Drive, Bev Hills...

Re: LA

Disneyland has two parks, not sure if you can cover all in one day.

Re: LA

Yeah and don't forget to visit inglewood, compton, watts, south LA. Lots to see there as well

Re: LA

Be careful in Inglewood and Compton. These are black areas with lots of crime and gang activity. Do visit long beach in South LA and then go to Southern beaches near Irvine (Orange County)

Re: LA

ok this is overwhelming.. so for two days we may only do the two parks in Disney land?

so Catalina island is recommended? what exactly is there to do?

Guys don't give me too many places please.. it's going to be a very short trip so can't sum it all up.. I wish I could though :(

Re: LA

rolleyes

Re: LA

The 2nd park is California Adventure. You can skip it. Start early in the morning and spend all day at Disneyland. It should be plenty of time. Don't forget to watch the fireworks and fantasia ( I think) after the sun goes down.

Re: LA

ok we will be there for 2 and half days and are leanining more towards a day at Disney Land, and a day at Universal Studios! I need help to know to narrow the beaches down to 2-3 whatever is possible.. oh by the way, how is the weather in Nov-Dec for the beach?

OUt of these, if you had to pick 2 or 3, which one will you prefer and why.. thanks

Venice Beach
Redondo Beach
Dockweiler Beach
Manhattan Beach
Santa Monica Beach
Marina Del Ray

Re: LA

I prefer Venice and Santa Monica beaches. Venice is more colorful and has best landscape among all. It is cheaper, has lots of restaurants and shops. You can visit trendy stores on Santa Monica beach short distance away.

Re: LA

great thank you....I think we are planning to visit Santa Monica, Venice, and Manhattan beach.. it was recommended by someone else as well..thanks!

if anyone finds more information and/or recommendation please let me know :-)

I will post my review once we return!

Re: LA

Be aware that Venice beach attracts a lot of riffraff, hari Krishna, hippies and drug addicts. Are you travelling with kids ?

Santa Monica beach, pier and 3rd St promenade is worth visiting.

Manhattan , hermosa and redondo form what is called a beach strip. They are literally adjacent to eacorher within 5 miles radius. You can drive thru all three. But out of the three, redondo beach pier has the most to offer in terms of restauants and uniqueness .

Re: LA

I saw families all over Venice beach with kids. Hippies are performers and not too many of them..

Re: LA

In Nov/Dec .. I wont go to a beach. Instead of doing second Disney Park (California Adventure), I would go to San Diego and either do LegoLand or SeaWorld. San Diego Beaches are also very beautiful.

Re: LA

are you serious no beach in nov? We are going from New England to avoid the cold and its cold there too :(

We are not doing the second disney park instead we are going to Universal Studios.. I did check the San Diego (especially for zoo) but turned out it can take from 1-4 hours so it should be avoided.. si Sea World open in November?

gosh I need one mroe day now :(

so manhattan and santa monica it is if we have to choose just two since they are all within the 10 miles of our hotel.

Re: LA

Anahiem, CA (where Disney is) to Hollywood, CA (Universal Studio) is 46 mins, and up to 2 hours in traffic cause you are going North towards LA.

Anahiem, CA to Carlsbad, CA (Legoland and seaworld) is 1 hour and 6 minutes but you are going south, away from main LA traffic. So there is only 20 mins difference.

Re: LA

:( how come you didn't recommend this when I opened the thread! now the tickets are booked and we only have two full days there.. We will be staying in LA about 30 miles from Disney land but apparently only 12 miles from Universal Studio!

I just checked out teh sea world and I really want to go there too... ok now I have to decide between Universal Studio and Seaworld.. there is a combo pass online for both of these places for only $119 and it would have been perfect BUT BUT BUT we have to go to Disney land which is a full day itself.. :( :( :(

ok lets talka botu food now.. any suggestions recommendations.. desi and mexican preferably please?
