catty, i probably have the same skin color like you do: i also avoid going out in the sun etc cuz i dont want to be darker than i am and i am literally the darkest person in my family. But its ok. I am finally coming to terms with it (well kinda :D ).
You cant really change your color but you can change your own attitude about it. Others who make ignorant comments are just that.....ignorant.
catty, I think its a good idea to step back and assess the situation as if you are looking at someone who isnt you. Would you still feel that your friend for example should feel inferior due to her darker skin color? Should she hate herself for being born that way? Do you think of others who are dark, that they are not or cant be beautiful? Would you tell someone that they arent beautiful cause they are not gori? You wouldnt would you? So why would you tell yourself that?
Who do you want to look beautiful to? And why is it important for you to be so accepted by society in terms of your looks?
I noticed that the only times I felt so unattractive due to my skin color was when I was around certain Pakistani's, because they emphasize this gora rang too much. I am tan where ppl can see me, and I have had some desis say to my face that tan people are not attractive. I personally found them to be unattractive for having such an odious attitude. Some people do have this attitude of, "look at me, I'm white", and I personally think that one has serious issues if they think like that. I have learned to accept myself for the most part, and am working on things that I do have control over (like weight). I think you really have to find the beauty within you.
You only have so many years here, why spend it wondering what life would have been like had you been lighter? Who knows, had you been light skinned maybe you would have then wanted a bigger nose or clearer eyes, or straighter teeth, or shinier hair. In the end you have to realize what you want people to accept you for. People often complain that others dont accept them for who they are, so dont fall into the trap of not accepting yourself for who you are. hugz

Well I suggest u marry an evil Indian Bania because of your skin color or find a darkie paki. On a serious note it's not a big deal. At least your body hair wont show up as much as with the light pakis. U wont get sunburn like the whities.

I dont then again I aam the skin complexion of what I believe is the average indian's skin color(dark brown). perhaps u just have sensitive skin. Actually I saw your pic. U look like u could pass for the average indian.
