One thing I find missing in todays plays is character development. Writers are not imaginative when they come up with their characters. There are so many plays but not even a single memorable character who you would know by name and memorize his dialogues by heart. Whereas in the past, imaginative writers would come up with the most fascinating characters that you would never be able to forget. Here’s a short list of some of those, who still haunt us:

  1. Sania and Zara (Tanhaiyaan)

  2. Kabacha (Tanhaiyaan)

  3. Hasnaat Bhai (Uncle Urfi)

  4. Mamu (Ankahi)

  5. Dr Zoya and Dr Ahmer (Dhoop Kinaray)

  6. Chaudhry Hashmat (Waaris)

  7. Sona Chandi (Sona Chandi )

  8. Kishwar Begum (Parchaiyaan)

  9. Ali and Mehreen (Teesra Kinara)

  10. All characters of Aangan Tehra especially the bawarchi (played by Salim Nasir)

  11. Shama and Faraz (Shama)

  12. Shahnaz of ABC

  13. Captain Faraz, Capatain Gulsher actually the whole cast of ABC

  14. Shah Sahb (Chand Girehan)

  15. Bina (Uncle Urfi)

  16. fari (Bandhan)

  17. Shehzori

  18. Mama Yaqub (Sona Chandi)

  19. Direct Hawaldaar of Andhera Ujala

  20. John Rambo (Guest House)

Off the top of my head, I could recall these names but I’m most definitely sure there are lots more we can add :slight_smile:

I dont think he was enough popular to be remain stuck in the memories as a favourite character

yes, I know she had no big role. I just mentioned as cast.

In Kashkol, no one had big role to b remembered except one character of Aali jah, played by talat hussain
