DUBAI: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday announced the formation of a 34-state Islamic military coalition to combat terrorism, according to a joint statement published on state news agency SPA.

A long list of Arab countries such as Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, together with Islamic countries Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan and Gulf Arab and African states were mentioned.
I think in principle this is a vital move. However, is it also prime picking for the puppeteers to further manipulate us?

Lol, 34 state Islamic Military Alliance? Except Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and maybe Malaysia the rest of the countries are garbage in terms of having a potent military forces.

I dont think it could turn out to be a Muslim equivalent NATO actually. Just a political stance having no actual mandate except they could bomb Yemen rebellions, Syria and Egypt's opposition etc.

Finance and diplomatic support of those 'garbage' countries can be a difference if it could become a true working alliance.

Probably Pakistan's refusal to join KSA to bomb Yemen made them think to get more rental armies. If KSA is really wanting to fight against terrorism then the very first thing it needs to do is stop funding terrorists... can we have a "Yes" from Saudi Arabia? All I hear is cricket sounds.

Other than Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Malaysia...there is nothing significant about this "Islamic" Army. I would even take out Egypt and Malaysia. We are left with Pakistan and Turkey. Basically only potent forces Islamic countries. And if Saudia Arabia is trying to get Pakistan and Turkey on their side with fighting with Yemen..well good luck. This is not going to happen. I would say..nice try Saudis.
Becauses ISIS will eventually be taken care of..by west in general.

Good posting Captain1 ... I need to make one thing clear though ... Saudi government and Wahaabi movement were in a pact. This pact seems to be feeling a strain. The Wahaabi movement has become a spectrum of beliefs and some of them are the ones funding the terrorists and Saudi rule has been in a type of cold war with them. This call is from the Saudi regime - not the same body of people funding the problems in Iraq and the Levant. Treating Saudi as one homologous whole is now too simplistic and that rhetoric needs to change.

Saudi govt has kept quiet for decades and decades in bed with Wahabists while they were damaging Muslim countries, now if they have problem in their home or thinking about divorce then they need to come clean out in open and disown Wahabists. But I doubt they really have any differences, the Saudi govt still is funding supporting “resistance” against Syrian regime and fighting “Irani sponsored militias” in Yemen.
KSA thinks Pakistan is a ‘yes sir’ country? Well, it may have been on some occasions but not all, nice try.

And where is the roadplan for how this alliance will operate? What objectives, and timelines? When was there a meeting between figures from these countries with authority to agree or disagree to become a part of the coalition?

I think the current news is merely an intent to form a coalition and the names announced are countries Saudi wishes to be on the list. I think it is wishful thinking to make such a venture in central command by Saudis. I would vote to make Turkey the leader of this group.
